3 Club CarlsonSM, the hotel rewards program for Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, is the first hotel loyalty program to commit to a global meetings and events carbon offsetting initiative, Meetings Minus Carbon, through Club Carlson for Planners. The carbon offset is funded by Club Carlson, and is free to the meeting planner/client. 3

4 An easy process with Club Carlson Club Carlson members host meetings and events at Carlson Rezidor properties globally Club Carlson calculates the carbon footprint of the meeting or event based on the Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative (HCMI) and purchases carbon credits Each ton of carbon is offset through our partner, Carbon Footprint Ltd with VCS carbon credits in India and Brazil plus the planting of one tree in Kenya The guest receives a certificate, showing the total amount of carbon offset on their behalf; and benefiting their own tracking and reporting efforts 4

6 A recognized methodology Meetings Minus Carbon uses Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative (HCMI) to calculate the meeting s carbon footprint Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative (HCMI) is The Hotel Industry free standard tool to calculate and communicate carbon emissions from guest rooms and meeting space in a uniform way HCMI credentials Collaboratively defined by 23 competing hotel groups Jointly managed by International Tourism Partnership (ITP) and WTTC KPMG as technical consultants Validated by World Resources Institute (WRI) Follows the principles of the Greenhouse Gas protocol (GHG) Launched in June 2012 Used by over 21,000 hotels 6

10 A Concept Built on Collaboration Meetings Minus Carbon is the result of a collaborative effort of the Carlson Rezidor Responsible Business and Club Carlson loyalty teams; Launched on Earth Day Program evolution relies on the support of many Carlson Rezidor colleagues including those in sales, communications, loyalty, responsible business, and at the hotels; feedback and suggestions from our clients and business partners collected through such vehicles as social media. 10
