Energy Efficiency Programs Refresher: Pacific Power has two energy efficiency programs in California to help commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers save money and energy. FinAnswer Express Energy FinAnswer 8

Energy Efficiency Programs Commercial Industrial Agricultural Electrical Savings Project FinAnswer Express Most common efficiency measures Prescriptive ($/per unit) equipment incentives Possible custom incentives for equipment outside eligibility requirements (noted in catalogs) Energy FinAnswer 20,000 sq. ft. (for existing commercial sites) Custom energy engineering services $/kwh incentive for calculated savings Potential design assistance Equipment not part of Express

Energy FinAnswer - CA Contact Pacific Power first sign Letter of Intent Call to get started Energy analysis services will be provided Preliminary Report In-depth Energy Analysis Report (pre-purchase/installation) Post-Installation Inspection Both new construction & retrofit eligible Where custom calculations for energy savings/measures, such as complex control systems, >75 HP compressed air systems, or process cooling requiring detailed engineering to quantify savings There are commissioning requirements Incentive of $0.12/kWh + $50/kW 10 Incentive caps may apply (1 yr. payback and 50% project cost) Sign incentive agreement before you sign purchase orders

FinAnswer Express Commercial, Agriculture, & Industrial customers Program offers incentives for retrofit & new construction Mechanical & Non-Lighting apply post-purchase, refer to catalogs on supporting documents to attach to application Lighting New Construction and Retrofit pre-approval recommended but not required (post purchase application within 1 year of completion) Custom incentives sign incentive agreement before signing purchase orders (for equipment not listed in tables) 11

Program Overview/Changes for 2012 California s program updated January 19, 2012 Summary: HVAC: Unitary HVAC incentives reduced; PTAC/PTHP efficiency requirements raised above federal efficiency requirements (effective Sept. 30, 2012). Increased evaporative cooling equipment incentives. Retrofit only incentives for occupancy based PTAC/PTHP in lodging facilities due to code changes. Building Envelope: Adjusted minimum efficiency for windows. 12

Program Overview/Changes for 2012 Summary (continued): Appliances: Minimum efficiency requirements for clothes washer is updated. Discontinued ceiling fan incentive due to federal manufacturing standards. Food Service: Added Occupancy Sensors incentive to LED refrigeration case lighting retrofits. Modified electric combination ovens minimum efficiency requirements. Second tier added for higher savings and higher incentive for electric insulated holding cabinets, electric steam cookers, electric griddles, and electric commercial fryers. 13

Program Overview/Changes for 2012 Summary (continued): Compressed Air: zero loss condensate drain no longer restricted on system size. Irrigation: Added VFD for irrigation pump measure. Modifications for brass impact sprinklers to include other material types and some improvements for clarity. Farm & Dairy: Improved definition and wording; automatic milker takeoffs only for retrofit applications and custom calculation option for replacing existing automatic takeoffs 14

Program Overview/Changes for 2012 Summary (continued): Motors: Green motors adjusted to 5,000 horsepower Lighting (for the electricians in the room): Standard T8 incentives removed July 14, 2012 (zero incentive) Use CEE approved lamps and ballast for T8 lighting New lighting calculator tool available with all new incentives Older lighting tools no longer used on new projects Read up on the EISA/EPACT impacts for 2012 through Most T12 lamps are going away as stocks are depleted (and other lamp types). Pick-up copy of the T12 fact sheet flyer by Pacific Power (use for your customers) 15

FinAnswer Express (Lighting): Simplify Program GOALS with the Change Eliminate the multitudes of Custom Fixtures Pay for what is installed, not specific combinations of existing fixtures Easier to self-calculate your incentive Boost areas of new technology, increase incentives Align with federal standards/regulations Increase choice for Ally/vendor/customer to select products/brands/models types for your projects

FinAnswer Express: Retrofit Lighting Projects (2012) Lighting Retrofit Incentive Projects Receive up to 60% 70% of total project cost Minimum of 1-year payback (cap) Post-purchase process (no-change in process) Custom incentives available for other types of equipment ($ 0.10/kWh saved) NEW: Pay for per Lamp incentive structure. Paid on what is installed, baseline does not have to be a specific technology. Must show energy savings over existing. Added LED incentives Added Induction fixture incentives (new fixtures only) Added more de-lamping incentives focus More $$ for controls

Energy Efficiency Incentive Programs - What About Existing Projects?

FinAnswer Express Tariff 115 Lighting and NON-Lighting Projects New Incentives Effective Date is January 19, 2012 Invoice Date will determine which incentive amount applies Invoices prior to Jan. 19, 2012, receive old incentive (if previously listed) Invoices on or after Jan. 19, 2012 are eligible for the new incentives (if listed under new program) Application documents and date signed do not determine incentive offering. Be Careful: New incentive categories not present prior to Jan. 19, 2012 and if invoice is prior to this date, are not eligible for incentive!

What has NOT Changed: FinAnswer Express: Lighting Process New Construction/Major Renovation/Retrofit Post-Purchase Process Purchase and install qualifying equipment per program s guidelines catalogs available in back Complete application form & lighting calculation tool Attach utility bill Attach invoice: confirmation of total project cost and date Post-installation inspection requirements Project closeout, review and payment processing Check is mailed within 45 days of submittal of complete application Brian DeLaGrange is on point to support you! 20
