4 Global Warming in Minnesota Average temperature increased one degree Fahrenheit in last century. Minnesota only place on the continent where three ecosystems converge. Minnesota is especially vulnerable.

5 Local Action on Global Warming 1992 Saint Paul & Minneapolis become founding members of International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives Cities for Climate Protection (ICLEI) 1992 Saint Paul City Council passes resolution to reduce CO2 emissions to 20% below 1988 base year levels. 7 Saint Paul s Commitment to Reduce Carbon Dioxide (CO2) On February 1 st, Mayor Coleman and City Council signed U.S. Mayor s Climate Protection Agreement. Reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020 by increasing energy-efficiency; promoting renewable energy and alternative fuels; and reducing vehicle miles traveled
