10 Outline of The Asian Science and Technology Forum Project The Asian Science and Technology Forum By Prominent researchers/policy-makers 1. To be held annually in Japan ( ). 2. Discussion on and recommendation for specific strategies by addressing issues common to Asia utilizing science and technology. 3. Discussion on issues and recommendation for measures to improve the standard of science and technology in Asia. Formulation of plans and measures for issues common to Asia Establishment of partnerships between Asian countries Exchange of researchers Establishment of a platform (framework for exchange of personnel/ information at multilevels) The Asian Science and Technology Seminar By Specialists/ Administrators 1.To be held annually in Asian countries other than Japan ( ). 2.Discussion on specific issues raised through the forum in order to obtain measures to solve them JST/CRDS 10

11 Reflection of Proposal First step can be JST Strategic International Cooperative Program Program for actively developing the promotion of international researcher exchanges in cooperation between JST and an appropriate foreign counterpart organization based upon the spirit of reciprocity.
