In 5.7 hours, the deserts of our earth receive as much energy as the whole world s population uses in one year Solar energy is one of the most universal energies since more than 90% of the world s population live within proximity of sun belt The yearly solar irradiation in our deserts is equal to a 25 cm layer of oil on the surface around of our planet Page 7

13 Thermal Energy Storage allows solar power dispatch after sunset Thermal Energy Storage (TES) allows solar power dispatch after sunset and achieve high capacity factors for a CSP plant Molten Salt storage Hot tank TES in any form promotes flexibility and stability in grid operations (e.g. buffering during transient weather conditions) Adding TES requires additional solar field capacity.
