5 The Science Process: Proprietary technology built upon the proven sciences of pyrolysis (devolatization in an inert atmosphere) and hydropyrolysis (devolatization in a hydrogen-rich atmosphere). Output - Gas: Syngas ( Btu). Used for power production or used directly for industrial purposes. Output - Carbon: Can be sold for soil amendments, fuel sources, fillers for rubber, plastic applications, filtration, and road construction additives. Emissions Equal to natural gas but no emissions in the conversion from waste to gas. 5

7 D4 Energy Gas Enhancement Module (GEM) The D4 Energy s Gas Enhancement Module (GEM) is a specialty designed system that takes produced gas, in its raw state, containing short chain hydrocarbons (C1-C3), hydrogen, condensable oils and tars generally described as long chain hydrocarbons, CO (carbon monoxide) and CO2 (carbon dioxide) and produces a clean synthetic gas which can produce a broad range of energy products. 7
8 D4 Energy Feed Stock Squisher (FSSQ) The D4 Energy s Feed Stock Squisher (FSSQ) is a specialty designed technology that takes MSW, biomass and other feedstocks and reduces their moisture content from as high as 80% down to a nominal 2% 4%. 11 Superior WtE Technology The Company s proprietary technology uses a unique combination of pyrolysis and hydropyrolysis that subjects the feedstock to temperatures in excess of 1,600F (850C) in an all gas environment. Unlike competing technologies, the system does not involve combustion that produces toxic emissions. Benefit High waste stream conversion rates Description Approximately 80% of feedstock is converted to syngas and 20% to carbon Medium BTU values D4 units produce on average 600 to 750 BTU gas 1 Efficient processing The D4 system s parasitic load is approximately 10-15%. Minimal emissions D4 units operate as a closed loop systems that create almost no emissions in processing of the feedstock Modularity and scalability Lower operating costs Flexible feedstocks Greenhouse gas reduction Fast installation Portability Systems start as small as 1.25 MW (30 tons/day) and can grow as large as 40 MW (1,000 tons/day) Modular configuration, simple design, and operating at 1 bar Accepts a wide variety of waste streams and biomass Reduces landfill methane and reliance upon fossil fuels Can be assembled and in production in about four weeks after delivery to customer site Can be disassembled and moved to other sites 1 Exact BTU rating of produced gas depends on the type of feedstock 11
