The Future of Bottled Water is NOT a Bottle!
About Us Founded in 1957, Elopak is one of the world s leading liquid packaging companies producing liquid filling machines and Pure-Pak Gable Top cartons for consumers. Based in Norway and owned by the Ferd Group, one of Norway s largest privately owned industrial and investment groups, Elopak is a global leader with liquid packaging operations in 40 countries plus customers in over 80. We produce high quality; gable topped cartons which enable our customers to differentiate their respective brands with an almost infinite variety of printing options. Our containers are cost-effective, durable and 100% environmentally friendly. Our Vision for Future-Proof Packaging Elopak is a company focused on sustainability, both as a business model and for our planet s natural resources. In June 2016, Elopak became a CarbonNeutral company, offering CarbonNeutral packaging to our customers. Our plan, called FutureProof 2020 addresses three key issues: 1. Meeting continuous customer expectations. 2. Preparing ourselves for the inevitability of regulatory action, such as banning PET bottles. 3. The need to break free from our reliance on finite fossil resources. We intend to be a company with zero net impact on the environment. Our Mission It is our mission to provide the highest quality liquid packaging without destroying the environment and the planet in which we live. We work in close collaboration with our customers offering over 60 years of our experience, skills and knowledge to provide a profitable and sustainable liquid packaging business.
Plastic Water Bottles Are Being Banned. Is Your Business Prepared? The U.S., Canada and the European Union are restricting and even banning clear plastic water bottles made with PET. PET is polyethylene terephthalate, a plastic made from two monomers modified ethylene glycol and purified terephthalic acid. They are combined to form the polymer called polyethylene terephthalate or PET. PET Water Bottles Linked to Health Problems Unfortunately, a chemical known as BPA or Bisphenol A leaches into the water from the plastic. This compound is known to mimic oestrogen, but studies have recently found that BPA could lead to issues such as diabetes, heart disease, and liver problems 1. As a result, the E.U., the U.S. and Canada banned PET for use in baby bottles. 2 Governments worldwide are being pressured to ban all plastic water bottles for this reason and the pollution. 3 We Are Swimming in a Tidal Wave of Plastic Bottle Pollution Landfills, rivers and streets are choked with plastic water bottles creating a disposal nightmare for every country around the world. 50 million bottles are thrown away every day in the U.S. and 13 billion a year for the U.K. alone 4. The call for banning water bottles to stop this pollution is getting louder every day. The solution is to replace PET bottles with containers made from biodegradable materials sourced from renewable resources, not petroleum-based. Elopak / Elopak Obeikan Has the Old Solution to a New Problem Ready or not, change is coming to the bottled water industry. Bottlers are looking at cartons to replace PET bottles before it becomes mandatory by local Government. Elopak/ Elopak Obeikan introduces the Water Carton of the Future, the most environmentally sensitive packages on the shelf. Ecological and Cost-Effective Water Packaging Elopak / Elopak Obeikan Pure-Pak Cartons meet the demands of thirsty consumers, environmentalists, government regulators and most importantly, bottling business owners. Our carton is: 1 Joint FAO/WHO Expert Meeting to Review Toxicological and Health Aspects of Bisphenol A - Summary Report 2 Applicable as from 1 June 2011 (1st amendment Regulation (EU) No 321/2011)
Composed of 74% paper, 76% less plastic than a traditional PET (plastic) bottle! 100% Recyclable & Biodegradable 100% BPA Free Stays cooler longer a better insulator than plastic bottles The carton and tops are made from 100% renewable resources, not petroleum Food grade, vegetable dye ink makes our cartons safe Gable Top Cartons Provide Longer Shelf Life and Extra Revenue Opportunities Our coated paper cartons block all light which can change the taste, grow algae and affect nutrients in the water. Carton packaging for water is a better long-term solution for storing water which is especially important for hot climates and emergency relief operations. But the carton can bring in extra revenue as an advertising platform for other businesses. Each carton has four sides that give your company plenty of room for your logo and brand information as well as space to rent to other advertisers. This ad revenue is not possible with clear water bottles. You have nine Pure-Pak sizes from which to choose. Family Size Cartons 2.0 L Everyday Sizes L Single serving sizes 250, 330 & 500 ml Mini Series 500 ml 330 ml 250 ml STD series 1 L ½ L ¼ L
6 Reasons Pure-Pak Cartons are Better Than Plastic Bottles PET Bottles One pallet will contain a maximum of 7000 bottles requiring tremendous warehouse space. 5 steps to have one complete product. (Loading, Filling, Capping, Labelling & bundling) To Sanitize bottles requires a separate machine. (Increased capital costs) Energy consumption is very high. (9000 MW) The Price of 1000 Units of 250 ml bottles without cap & label price is 2.5% higher than the blanks, 50% of it is affected by daily global oil prices. Caps and labels will add to this cost. PET does not decompose and the estimated average time is 450 years. Pure-Pak Blanks One pallet will contain a minimum of 41,280 carton blanks, approximately 75% less space than that required by PET Bottles. Only 3 Steps to have one finished product. (Loading, filling/sealing, bundling) Our filling machine does sanitization. Much lower energy to produce. (6000 MW) The price of 1000 units of 250 ml Pure-Pak Blanks is 2.5% less than PET bottles + a huge cost saving from not buying caps, capping machines, labels and labelling applicator machines. Pure-Pak cartons are 100% biodegradable, recyclable and made from 100% renewable resources. Elopak Obeikan Offers Three Filling Machines Elopak state-of-the-art filling machines meet the demand for efficient filling of fresh and extended shelf life (ESL) liquid food products. Our filling machines are suitable for many different food products, and the machines can run a variety of package sizes for all of our Pure-Pak brands. Choose the Right Filling Machine to Match Your Production The S-PLF50UC fills 5,000 family-size cartons per hour. For everyday sizes, select the S-PSF70UC at 7,000 cartons per hour or the S-PSF 140UC at 14,000 cartons per hour. Our largest and fastest weighs approximately 12,000 kg. and requires only two operators. Our filling machines are compact with a small footprint as no stand-alone auxiliary equipment needed. The dimensions are 9.3 L x 2.5 W x 3.8H (m) requiring only 45 sm 2. Quick and easy changeover allows you to fill six different sized cartons without mechanical changes. Our top of the line, S-PM240 Gable Top Water Filler features the largest production capacity. Capacity:20000 PCS/h Filling volume:200ml, 250ml, 330ml, 500ml Dimensions:8576L 3004W 3805H(mm) Weight: Approximately 13000kg
Elopak Obeikan Filling Machines Offer Low Utility Consumption These filling machines require less water, electricity and compressed air than comparable equipment. They are not only durable, but these fillers are easy to clean and maintain.
