19 Wood Waste wood: own plant with CHP: 5 7 MW el Lop: 3-4 sites with together 2 MWel including innovative procedures (HTC, torrification, terra-preta): model region biosphere Bliesgau Mobilization of private forest potential through information campaigns Intensification of forestry wood use with a focus on high efficient heating systems (wood ships or pellets in central plants with district heating) and priority given to CHP plants (Wood will become more and more in short supply) => reduced use in single firing burners Special attention to adapted treatment of forest soil 19

22 Agriculture: measures Short rotation crops: - installation of first pilot plant with support through a grant scheme (e.g per ha) - revision of regulative law (privilege of less distance to neighbourhood) Bio-oil: use only in CHP plants and to smoothen peak loads in the electrical grid Biogas: - grant scheme for installation of district heating grids to increase combined heat use in CHP plants to create more bio-energy villages - optimization of the digestate use in the planning process - tests with new bio-crops and their residues Information campaigns with farmers and networking 22
