Pollution from Fossil Fuel based Power Generation
Solution
Captive Rooftop Solar Power Sl. General Perception Perception in Uttar Pradesh 1 Rooftop Solar power for captive usage is loss to the DISCOM 2 DISCOM Loose their premium customers. Green Energy is the need of the hour and it must be promoted at whatever cost. The power saved from this will help cater power needs of the masses. 3 It destabilizes the grid Distributed generation from rooftop reduces losses and strengthen the local grid
Support & Facilities - UP 1. Clear Policy, Guidelines, technical Specifications etc of Grid Connected Solar Rooftop under Net Metering as well as Gross Metering. 2. On Line registration facility for the applicants desiring rooftop solar PV power plant. 3. No need to go through bidding / selection process to have a grid connected solar PV power Plant. 4. No rationing of Capacity allocation.
Rooftop Policy of State of Uttar Pradesh Considering the potential benefits of deployment of rooftop solar photovoltaic plants, which includes: 1. Reducing dependence on fossil fuel based generation, 2. optimal utilisation of spaces on rooftops and wasteland around the buildings, 3. savings on investment in transmission and distribution infrastructure, 4. savings on reducing the network losses, 5. reduced cost for managing the scheduling of electricity etc.,
Rooftop Policy of State of Uttar Pradesh Objectives : The State Government introduces the policy with the following objectives, 1. To contribute to solar capacity addition and energy security 2. To optimally utilize the available solar energy resource in the State 3. To encourage development and promotion of environment contributing to sustainable development 4. To enable stakeholders in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Solar Photovoltaic Solar Photovoltaic: Sunlight can be converted directly into electricity by using solar panels. Solar panels are comprised of photovoltaic cells or solar cells that are arranged in a grid-like pattern on its surface. The individual solar cells are made of special semiconducting materials like silicon. When solar energy strikes this surface, the solar cell converts the solar radiation into useful electrical energy (a direct current) which can be used in the home
Advantages of Solar PV Installing solar power is the right thing to do for our community, for the environment. Reliable operation through high efficiency crystalline silicon module. Life of solar panels is 25 to 30 years Enormous savings of precious fuels and electricity. Clean and green solar energy with no recurring electricity cost No moving parts and very minimal maintenance. Easy to maintain and install. Solar system is environment friendly, noise free and smoke free. Reduce carbon emissions and minimize the effects of global warming Payback period of SPV system cost is less than 5 years Tax Benefits +5 hours of power generation per day
Suitable Roofs & Applications 1. Flat RCC Roof 2. Shelter / Shed Roofs Slope Facing East, West, North, South and / or any combination 3. Walls 1. Educational Institutions 2. Industrial Sheds / roofs 3. Hotels, Malls and other commercial establishments. 4. Warehouses 5. Government / private offices 6. Residential colonies / Townships 7. Etc
Working Principal of the System Grid Interactive Solar PV System: Working Principal: During the day time when the grid is available the solar PV modules will produce electrical energy which will be created in the form of Direct Current (D.C.) The inverter will convert the D.C. electricity to Alternating Current (A.C.) so that it can be used within the building. The electricity generated by the PV system works hand in hand with the existing electrical supply to power appliances and lighting. During the day sufficient electricity can be generated by the system for the load. If not, this will be supplemented by the normal electricity supply from the grid.

Net Metering / Bi-Directional Metering Net metering is the concept which records net energy between export of generated energy and import of Discom energy for a billing month. Alternatively, the meter, having the feature of recording both the import and export values, besides other parameters notified by CEA metering regulations and Discom procedures. Advantages: 1) Cost effective and robust systems. 2) No wastage of power in the event of lower demand. 3) Adjustment of surplus generation 4) Supports state DISCOM to comply with their Solar RPO.
NET Metering
Other Merits With a typical installation of 100 KWp of Solar PV Power Plant on the roof of your establishment it is estimated that the environmental benefit will be 675 trees saved per year, along with a carbon offset of pounds per annum. "Installing solar power is the right thing to do for our community, for the environment. That is why we propose you to install solar on our establishments."
CSR Activities
CSR Activities Ujaas is committed towards it Corporate Social activities and under this the company and installed and powered many villages with solar based street lighting. Continuing its CSR activity company has installed and is maintaining several roof top solar power installation in areas with huge power cuts and deficits. The company has also provided training and development programme for the local village youths in the field of solar installation and maintenance and is committed to employ as much as possible based on the requirement local sons of soil to enable rural development.
To Conclude. Climate Change is a global challenge. It can only be successfully overcome through a global, collaborative and cooperative effort. I wish to conclude by recalling Mahatma Gandhi s sagacious message not only to the people of India, but to the world at large: The earth has enough resources to meet the needs of all people, but will never have enough to serve their greed. This should be the spirit which must underlie in any of our strategies for sustainable development.
