5 Mid Breton Diversion Sediment Diversion (01.DI.23) Project Description Medium sediment diversion into mid-breton Sound in the vicinity of White Ditch to build and maintain land with 5,000 cfscapacity; Modeled at 5,000 cfsfor river flows above 200,000 cfsand no operation below 200,000 cfs. Projected Cost: $123 million. Project Status / Next Steps Construction funds are not anticipated to be needed until Construction funds have not been secured.

6 Lower Breton Diversion Sediment Diversion (01.DI.02) Project Description Medium sediment diversion into lower Breton Sound in the vicinity of Black Bay to build and maintain land with 50,000 cfscapacity; Modeled at 50,000 cfswhen Mississippi River flow exceeds 600,000 cfs, modeled at 8% of river flows between 200, ,000 cfs, and no operation when river flow is below 200,000 cfs. Projected Cost: $212 million. Project Status / Next Steps CPRA has hired URS to advance the project through Feasibility Level Planning to determine the exact location and cfs capacity. Engineering and Design will begin after Planning (December 2014). Project is not expected to need construction funds before Construction funds have not been committed to the project but are likely through oil spill settlements.

7 Lower Barataria Diversion Sediment Diversion (01.DI.15) Project Description Medium sediment diversion into lower Barataria Bay in the vicinity of Empire to build and maintain land with 50,000 cfscapacity; Modeled at 50,000 cfswhen Mississippi River flow exceeds 600,000 cfs, modeled at 8% of river flow from 600, ,000 cfs, and no operation when the river flow is below 200,000 cfs. Projected Cost: $203 million. Project Status / Next Steps CPRA has hired ARCADIS to advance the project through Feasibility Level Planning to determine the exact location and cfscapacity. Engineering and Design will begin after Planning (December 2014). Project is not expected to need construction funds before Construction funds have not been committed to the project but are likely through oil spill settlements.

8 Mississippi Sediment Delivery- West Marsh Creation (02.MC.05e) 2012 Master Plan Project Description The Master Plan project includes over 8,000 acres of marsh creation within Barataria Basin in vicinity of Bayou Dupont. This large feature will be separated into smaller projects based on funding allocation. All projects will be constructed with hydraulically dredged sediment from the Mississippi River and will likely utilize the recently bid Mississippi River Long Distance Pipeline corridor. The first project will be composed of approximately 650 acres and will be located directly adjacent to the recently bid Bayou Dupont Marsh and Ridge Creation Project (BA-48) and the constructed Bayou Dupont Marsh Creation Project (BA-39). Projected Cost: $75 million for first project portion. Project Status / Next Steps Engineering and design should begin in early 2014 and construction could begin in Long Distance Sediment Pipeline Projects

9 Greater New Orleans LaPlace Ext Structural Protection (01.HP.05) 2012 Master Plan USACE Alignment Alternatives Project Description Construction of a levee to an elevation of 13.5 feet in the LaPlacearea for hurricane storm surge risk reduction. Project features include approximately 134,000 feet of earthen levee, 6,000 feet of concrete T-wall, two 40-foot roller gates, and two 110-foot barge gates. Projected Cost: $457 million. Project Status / Next Steps The Corps has a draft Feasibility/EIS report out that recommends Alternative C. However, the report has completed public review and got overwhelming support for Alternative D (Master Plan Alignment). They are currently reviewing those comments.

10 Lake Pontchartrain Barrier Structural Protection (01.HP.08p) Project Description Planning, engineering and design to construct a levee to an elevation of 24.5 feet across the mouth of Lake Pontchartrain from the New Orleans Landbridge to Interstate 59 north of Slidell for hurricane storm surge risk reduction. Projected Cost: $76 million (Planning and Design Only). Project Status / Next Steps Evaluation of several Lake Pontchartrain Barrier alternatives to provide additional risk reduction to New Orleans and lake-adjacent LA communities such as Slidell is ongoing. ADCIRC and unstructured SWAN model analysis will support the evaluation of damage reduction benefits over the next 50 years for several barrier and alignment options. Analysis is expected to be completed within 24 months.

11 Upper Barataria Risk Reduction Structural Protection Project Description Analysis of storm surge risk reduction options in the northern extents of Barataria Basin. Alternatives will be modeled using ADCIRC/UnSWANand the CLARA models, and the results compared to the 2012 Coastal Master Plan results for structural and nonstructural projects. In addition, review and data synthesis from existing 2012 Coastal Master Plan model outputs will be conducted. Analysis Cost: $200,000 Project Status / Next Steps Initial phase of analysis should be complete in late spring

12 Nonstructural Protection (Elevation, Floodproofing, & Voluntary Acquisition) Project Descriptions Floodproofingwas evaluated for residential and commercial structures with less than 3 ftflooding; Elevation was considered for residential homes 3-18 feet flooding; Voluntary acquisition was considered for residential homes with greater than 18 feet of flooding. Participation rates were between 70-80%, depending on nonstructural measure. Cost: $10.2B coastwide

14 South Lake Lery Shoreline and Marsh Restoration (BS-16) Funding: CWPPRA Project Purpose: Marsh creation in southern portion of Lake Leryand shoreline restoration on the western shore of Lake Lery Project Features: Create 496 acres of marsh in three cells on the southern shore of Lake Lery Restore 35,831 linear feet of shoreline on the western edge of Lake Lery Total Project Cost: $32.4 million Status: Project is approved for construction Design is complete Construction bids have been received Construction NTP in March 2014

15 Funding: CWPPRA Terracing & Marsh Creation South of Big Mar (BS-24) Project Purpose: Creation of Marsh and Terraces West of Lake Leryand South of Big Mar Project Features: Creation of 334 acres of marsh on the West shore of Lake Lery Creation of 65,000 linear feet of terraces in three locations south of Big Mar Total Project Cost: $22.7 million Status: Project is in initial stages of design Survey and Geotechnical efforts ongoing

16 Bayou Bonfouca (PO-104) Funding: CWPPRA/St. Tammany Parish CIAP Project Purpose: Marsh Creation and Nourishment of low salinity brackish marsh in open water areas adjacent to Bayou Bonfouca with sediment pumped from Lake Pontchartrain. Project Features: Create 638 acres of Marsh (4,158,318 CY) Nourish 42acres of Marsh Total Project Cost: $28.0 million Status: Project has Phase 2 (construction) funding Final E&D is in progress Anticipate construction initiation in February 2015

17 Previously Authorized Mitigation LPV Manchac(PO-146) Funding:Water Resource Development Acts of 1974, 1986, 19990, 1992, 1996, 1999 and 2000 Project Purpose: Provide 110 acres of marsh as mitigation required for the impacts LPV and to protect the eroding shoreline and interior marshes of the ManchacWildlife Management Area Project Features: Raise existing segmented breakwaters Fill gaps to connect breakwaters Dredge material to create marsh between rock dike and shoreline Total Project Cost: $22,985,000 (100% Federal) Status: The project is currently under construction and expected to be completed by April 2014 The rock dike has been completed and dredging is currently underway

18 Living Shoreline Demonstration Project (PO-148) Funding: CIAP Project Purpose: Provide shoreline protection to as much as 21 miles of shoreline from EloiPoint to mouth of Bayou La Loutre around Lydia Point by installing living shoreline products. Project Features: Use of products that will stimulate oyster growth in lieu of traditional shoreline protection products. Gather valuable data on the performance of various configurations of several different products to design more effective future projects. In this area, put 1 to 2 pictures or maps that best represent the project. Total Project Cost: $24,000,000 Status: Survey and Geotechnical efforts complete Development of evaluation criteria and alternatives underway

19 River Reintroduction Into Maurepas Swamp (PO-29) Funding: CWPPRA/State Project Purpose: To restore the health and essential functions of the Maurepas Swamp wetlands Project Features: Three 10 x 10 box culverts at Mississippi River near Reserve, LA Maximum design flow of 2,000 cfs ~ 5 miles of conveyance channel then water delivered into swamp just north of I-10 Total Project Cost: $197.7 million Status: 95% design completed under CWPPRA Joint Permit Application has been submitted, public notice was published in August, 2013 and has closed Finalizing Design Ongoing landowner coordination

20 Funding: CWPPRA Alligator Bend Shoreline Protection (PO-34) Project Purpose: Stop erosion along the Alligator Bend portion of the Lake Borgneshoreline to maintain the Orleans Landbridge Project Features: Foreshore rock dike; some portions with weaker soils will require the use or lightweight aggregate Total Project Cost: $40.3 million Status: 95% Design Report, Plans & Specifications Completed Awaiting Phase 2 (construction) funding in the CWPPRA program

21 Small Diversion at Convent/Blind River (PO-68) Funding: LCA Project Purpose: To improve habitat function by establishing hydrologic period fluctuation into the Maurepas Swamp wetlands Project Features: Diversion structure to convey Mississippi River water into the Maurepas Wetlands Maximum design flow of 3,000 cfs Conveyance channel and outfall management features Total Project Cost: $123.2 million Status: Project is in early design by USACE Currently working H&H modeling to resolve project features and location Ongoing landowner coordination

22 Biloxi Marsh (PO-72) Funding: 2007 State Surplus Project Purpose: The project will construct shoreline protection along the southeast coast of Lake Borgne in St. Bernard Parish Project Features: Approximately 4 miles of breakwater structure will be constructed with a light weight aggregate interior core and armoring stone for the exterior Total Project Cost: $22.0 Million Status: The project is currently under construction by Bertucci Contracting Co., Inc. The projected finish date is March 2014.

23 Madisonville Bulkhead Project (PO-87) Funding: CDBG Project Purpose: The Coastal Communities Recovery Program (CCRP) uses federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds granted to the state for the restoration, hardening, and improvement of critical infrastructure including water control structures and levees in keeping with the State Master Plan. Project Features: installation of a steel sheet pile wall 798 feet long dock replacement, Total Project Cost: $2.3 million Status: Approximately 75% Constructed Scheduled to be completed in April 2014

24 Central Wetlands Assimilation - Demonstration(PO-73) Funding: Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) Project Purpose: The project will restore approximately 17 acres of critical wetlands using wetland assimilation of wastewater effluent and beneficial use of biosolids from the EBSTP. It will also provide scientific basis for future disinfection of effluent in the Central Wetlands. Project Features: Using ferrate, determine the impact of treating effluent and biosolids in two 8.5 acre cells Plant native species to help preserve wetlands Total Project Cost: $3.5M Status: November 2013: Ferrator to begin operating Testing discharges in two cells To be completed in March 2014

25 Central Wetlands Assimilation - Riverbend(PO-73-1) Funding: Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) Project Purpose: Restore approximately 354 acres of critical wetlands in St. Bernard Parish using wetland assimilation of wastewater from the Riverbend Oxidation Plant Project Features: Provide freshwater in Central Wetlands Area to offset the lasting effects of MRGO Eliminate the need to build piping from Riverbend plant to Munster Plant in St. Bernard Plant native species to help preserve wetlands Total Project Cost: $2.0M Status: November 2013: Notice to Proceed to contractor Pre-Construction Meeting Held Feb. 18, 2014 Scheduled Construction Completion December 2014

26 Central Wetlands Assimilation EBSTP to A2 (PO-73-2) Funding: Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) Project Purpose: Restore approximately 473 acres of critical wetlands in hydrological area 2 using wetland assimilation of wastewater effluent from the EBSTP. The effluent will be piped along the 40- arpent canal levee into the A2 area that is located in St. Bernard Parish. Project Features: Provide freshwater in Central Wetlands Area to offset the lasting effects of MRGO. Plant native species to help preserve wetlands Total Project Cost: $4.5M Status: Design 90% completed Awaiting Permits Construction in Fall 2014
