The NH-8 connecting Jaipur- Delhi passes through the area, via Pawata and Kotputli. The climate of the area is semi-arid to arid with average annual rainfall of about 570 mm. the north easterly flowing Saota and Sabi rivers drain the southern part of the area with their tributaries. The drainage pattern is sub dendritic to dendritic in nature. Geomorphologic ally, the area is characterized by mature topography, having more or Smt. Manju Devi W/o Shir Sita Ram Agrawal 5
7 Masonry Stone Mining Project (2,11,000 TPA), M.L. No. 82/97, ML Area 1.0 ha Near Village: Beri Tehsil Kotputali District less flat topped mountain ridges, isolated hills, pediplain region covered with alluvium consisting of the Quaternary sediments. The hill ranges trend N-S to NE-SW in western part and E-W in south eastern part of the area; these hill ranges from north eastern extension of the great Aravalli range. The height of the hill ranges varies between 765 m to 545 m above MSL. The general ground level is 360 m to 400 m above MSL. Geologically, the rocks exposed in the area belongs to the Delhi Supergroup (Palaeo to Meso Proterozoic) Heron(1917) grouped these rocks under the Delhi system, but subsequent mapping in the area has changed the status of Delhi System to the Delhi Supergroup. The stratieraphic succession and nomenclature used here is based upon the GSI Mem. Vol. 110 by Banerjee et, al. (1980). The rocks exposed in the area comprise metasedimentary rocks consisting of meta-erinaceous rocks of the Alwar Group and meta- calcareous, meta- argillaceous and meta- pelites of the Ajabgarh Group of the Delhi Super group. The Alwar group of rocks is exposed in the south eastern part of the area. It comprises schist and phyllite representing the Kankwarhi Formation, which is overlain by massive quartzite representing the Pratapgarh Formation. The quartzite is gritty and feldspathic at places. It is overlain by amphibole quartzite, calc gneiss with interbands of impure marble, representing the Kushalgarh Formation of the Ajabgarh Group of rocks. The Ajabgarh Group comprises the Kushalgarh, the Seriska, the Thanaghazi, and the Bharkol Formations, in ascending order of superposition. The Kushalgarh Formation, overlying the quartzites of the Pratapgarh Formation (Alwar Group), comprises mainly meta- calcareous rocks consisting of impure marble, calc gneiss with interbands of amphibole quartzite. It also occurs in the northwestern part of the area as linear ridges and isolated hills. The Kushalgarh Formation is overlain by the Seriska formation. It comprises brecciate, ferruginous reddish- brown quartzite, exposed in prominent hill range in the northwestern part and as isolated hills at few other places in the area. It consists of angular fragments of quartzite cemented in a very fine-grained, siliceous matrix. It is highly fractured and traversed by quartz veins and laterally grades into massive Smt. Manju Devi W/o Shir Sita Ram Agrawal 6
8 Masonry Stone Mining Project (2,11,000 TPA), M.L. No. 82/97, ML Area 1.0 ha Near Village: Beri Tehsil Kotputali District quartzite. It is reddish-brown in colour due to presence of hematite and goethite, which are altered to limonite, at places. The Thanaghazi Formation overlying the Seriska Formation comprises interblended sequence of biotite-sericite schist, quartzite, phyllite, mica schist and bands of impure marble with actinolite tremolite minerals. The Bharkol Formation comprises mainly gritty quartzite with interbands of phyllite and quartzite, occurring in a linear ridge trending NW-SE in the northern part of the area as an isolated hill. The post- Delhi acid intrusive rocks are represented by pegmatite veins, which occur as intrusive body within the Thanaghazi Formation and as isolated bodies within the alluvium cover in the southwestern part of the area. Structurally, the rocks of the Delhi Super group in the area are highly deformed and have undergone folding showing antiformal structures with axial trace trending NE-SW within the rocks of Seriska Formation. The rocks of Delhi Super group in general are showing strike variation from NNE-SSW to NE-SW and at few places NW-SE and E-W m the south eastern part with low to moderate dips 40 to 60 southerly or south easterly. Two sets of joint trending NE-SW and NW SE with 80 0 to 85 0 dip on either sides are present in the rocks of the area. Few points are also vertical. Foliation are prominently developed in the politic rocks trending N-S to NE-SW following regional trends with 60 0 to 65 0 westerly dip. Fault, are observed within the rocks the rocks of the area, trending NNE-SSE and NE-SW following regional trend of deformation at few places. 4. Method of Mining Proposed method of mining will be semi mechanized opencast by forming proper benches. The mining is proposed as per present situation of the deposit. The mining is proposed by semi-mechanized opencast method, excavation, proposed by blasting. Hydraulic excavator/loader and tippers are proposed for removal of mineral and for loading of mineral and waste. The haul/ approach roads have been provided up to the proposed working forced, site services, site of dump. The mineral and waste are proposed to be transported by tractor trolley and tippers. Smt. 9 Masonry Stone Mining Project (2,11,000 TPA), M.L. No. 82/97, ML Area 1.0 ha Near Village: Beri Tehsil Kotputali District The mining will be carried out by opencast method by developing the bench of 3-6 m hight and width. Four slices are considered in a bench. The calculations are as per the four slices of a bench. Thus the end position of the bench is 6 meter height. Width is also proposed 6 meter.
