4 CORTEX EPDM MEMBRANE CORTEX EPDM MEMBRANE Cortex EPDM membrane provides a weather tight seal to the exterior side of the connecting joint between a window or façade screen and the adjacent structure (e.g. concrete wall, steel frame etc.) or to provide an internal airtight seal in a similar detail. The material has a textured surface on both sides to ensure maximum bond strength is achieved. Cortex EPDM membrane does not contain solvents which could later migrate into adjacent surfaces. 6 CORTEX 0860 FULLY ADHESIVE BACKED EPDM MEMBRANE CORTEX 0860 FULLY ADHESIVE BACKED EPDM MEMBRANE Cortex 0860 is a fully adhesive backed EPDM with a very high bond. The membrane will adhere to most common substrates. Porous surfaces may need to be primed using CORTEX 0785 primer We have been working with Obex for the past 18 Months and find them to be extremely efficient in dealing with our enquiries, lead times are very good and any promised delivery dates have always been met, even if they have been on short notice. The product has a very long expected service life and is environmentally friendly. Cortex EPDM membrane with gasket is typically used in wet weather or low temperature situations as it eliminates the need for adhesive to bond the EPDM to the frame. 16 CORTEX PASTE ADHESIVE CORTEX PASTE ADHESIVE Cortex paste is a one part adhesive for horizontal and vertical bonding of Cortex EPDM membranes. It is suitable for bonding Cortex membrane to most substrates including metal, wood, aluminium, light concrete, PVC and glass etc, 0765, 0766 and 0767 paste adhesive is ideal for in-factory bonding of Cortex membrane to aluminium frames with the use of a termination strip. Substrates must be clean, dry and free from oil and grease. The bond will provide excellent resistance to ageing, temperature changes and is waterproof. For best results use the Cortex EPDM roller to ensure a perfect bond. When completely cured, the bonding assembly resists temperatures up to 80 c. We have 3 types of paste adhesive (0765, 0766 and 0767) in different viscosities to suit each customer s needs. 18 CORTEX CONTACT ADHESIVE CORTEX CONTACT ADHESIVE Cortex 0775 is a ready to use contact adhesive for bonding Cortex EPDM membranes to a wide variety of substrates including metal, concrete, EPDM membranes and wood. Porous surfaces may need to be primed using Cortex 0785 primer. Cortex 0775 contact adhesive should be applied with the application brush or roller. Cortex 0776 is 0775 contact adhesive supplied in a pressurised canister for ease of application The reasons I deal with Obex are 1) They are keenly priced. 2) Most things ordered are received within 48 hrs, 24 if ordered early enough. 3) The staff are well knowledgeable about the products they sell. I personally have only just started dealing with Obex, and to date they have not only not let me down, but have also rescued me on more than one occasion. To top it all off I even got a free bottle of wine with my first order!
