3 I. Background: Problem, Objective and Metods I.1 Problem: Uncertainty and Power Reserve 3/2 Uncertainty: Intermittent renewable energy sources (RES) power is difficult to predict. To cover te risk: Additional Operating Reserve (OR) is needed. Massive RES increases te uncertainty in power system and OR is mandatory to maintain te system security level. Today te consumption/production balancing and OR provision are performed by conventional generators. Constant Reserve "Uncertain Variable Reserve" Pref Pref Pref is given by te system operators (power dispatc) Problem: ow to precisely quantify te OR and locate it into te generators, witout losing te system security level.

20 VI. Conclusion 2/2 Conclusions PV power variability and load demand variability are analyzed. Te ANN algorisms are developed for te PV power and te load forecast. A probabilistic metod for te OR calculation based on two different kind of forecasted uncertainty assessment metods is proposed. Te dynamic joint operational and OR dispatcing strategies are developed. Day-aead optimal operational and OR planning wit DP is proposed by considering different constraints and different optimization strategies. A User-friendly EMS and Operational Planning Supervisor is developed. Prospects Big data for distributed RES uncertainty analysis and a better forecasting results Optimization metod to improve te battery efficiency Build a global EMS to incorporate te predicted uncertainty ranges into te sceduling, load following, and into te regulation processes.
