1 Be the change you want to see in fabrics
2 Recycled fabrics for a better world In its commitment to innovation and ecology, Santanderina presents R/TURN SMART RECYCLED FABRICS, a selection of high ecological fabrics and finishes to drive circular economy solutions in the textile world. With a vertical production process with controlled traceability, we recycle materials like TENCEL and cotton, turning it into new fabrics based on responsible manufacturing. The result are recycled fabrics meeting all quality standards.
3 Weaving for a circular We have developed efficient internal plans for reusing and recycling resources We have a vertical production process (spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing) We have reduced energy consumption in all our production processes We minimise water consumption in all our processes We innovate to optimise resources in the production cycle economy We have reduced the generation of waste and we have improved their management We have made a clear commitment to green, sustainable materials in our fabrics We have reduced CO 2 atmospheric emissions achieving cleaner production We use ecological dyes and chemicals that meet REACH criteria We carry out quality, safety and environmental audits to ensure the company is developing responsibly We work with many NGOs and social, sporting, educational and cultural organisations in our commitment to society Our fabrics have the most widely recognised green certifications in European textiles We are commited to human rights and we have been a signatory of the UN Global Compact We work to ensure global traceability in accordance with our CSR policy We make textiles with/for companies that share our commitment to the planet
4 Material recycling process PRE-CONSUMER recovered cotton Origin It comes from the grinding and use of scraps during the textile production process (spinning, weaving, manufacturing, etc.). Depending on the quality of the origin, the better the resulting grinded fibre will be. Supplier It can be obtained in companies specialized in the grinding process, without taking part in the raw material supply. Depending on the grinding company, the desired material to be grinded can be delivered and so pay for the process (better traceability). POST-CONSUMER recovered cotton Origin It comes from the grinding of garments that the owner decides to discard. We can ensure a full tracking for this kind of material from the origin to the fibre. Supplier It can be obtained in companies specialized in the grinding process, which use discarded clothes or clothes that cannot be used anymore as raw material. We can buy the fibre directly in CÁRITAS KOOPERA, which manages all the steps of the process. We could manage the collecting with other companies or organizations and decide where we want to carry out each step during the process. Process 1. Collection 2. Clothes sorting by colour, composition and type of fabric 3. Removal of all those components which should not be grinded (zips, buttons, labels, seams, etc.) 4. Grinding preparation INDUSTRIAL PROCESS CUTTING Cutting to size for its grinding MIXING PRE-GRINDING Preparation for grinding GRINDING 4 grinding areas FINAL MATERIAL Indigo and/or other materials Outcome Carding cylinders
