1 The 15 th French-Japanese Oceanography Symposium Marine Productivity: Perturbations and Resilience of Coastal Socio-Ecosystems Boulogne-sur-mer - October 17 th and 18 th Marseille October 21 st and 22 nd

2 Main Thema The Symposium at Boulogne-sur-Mer and Marseille are co-organised by the two French- Japanese Oceanography Societies in cooperation with Ifremer and CNRS. The last two conferences took place in France, Marseille and Paris, in 2008 and then in Japan, Kobe and Tokyo, in In continuity with these two last conferences, the 15 th edition of the French-Japanese Oceanography Conference will take place in 2013 at Boulogne sur-mer and Marseille focusing on : Marine Productivity: Perturbations and Resilience of Coastal Socio- Ecosystems The main thema of the conference focus on the issue of aquatic feeding products supply under varied anthropogenic pressures while degradation and loss of productivity are taking place for a large number of the most productive ecosystems located at the land-sea interface.

3 Boulogne-sur-mer Sessions Session 1- Process Studies Main drivers impacts identification and analysis (habitat degradation, environmental contamination, resources rces use, ) Session 2 - Ecosystem Modeling Integrating g complexity with an overall vision from the ecological, economic and social points of view through time and space under varied scenarii. Session 3 - Integrated Management Approaches in partnership and replicable at local and regional scales: case studies in Japan (Seto Inland Sea, ) and France (Chantier Manche, Baie de Seine et Seine aval, ).

4 Sessions Marseille Session 4- Status and Evaluation of MPAs Concept definition, management tools, MPAs national strategy Session 5 Natural Perturbations and Impacts Impacts and effects of earthquake and tsunami on ecosystems, natural pressures on coral reef, modification of plancton community Session 6 Anthropogenic Perturbations, Adaptations and Impacts Fisheries, oyster farming, marine litter, water treatment, radionuclear pollution... Session 7 Integrated Management and Mitigation Tools Biodiversity measurement, integrated coastal management, artificial habitats and fish reef.

5 Communication call Oral communications Their number is limited. it Only for invitedit papers with a balance among specific sessions and between the French and Japanese speakers. Posters The standard form of scientific presentation. Their number is not limited.. Dead line An abstract of 250 words with title, authors name and key words is requested before the 31 st of July 2013 for oral communication and poster submissions. Proceedings Oral communications will be published by Springer, an international scientific publisher, but also posters if a text of 10 pages maximum is sent before the mid of October 2013 to be evaluated for final publication
