First Aid General safe practice : Inhalation : Contact with skin : Contact with the eyes : Ingestion : In case of vapors or sprayer inhalation causing irritation, move the person away and allow her/him to breath fresh air. Should the symptoms continue, please consult a doctor. Remove immediately the soiled clothes and rinse abundantly the concerned body part with water and soap. Rinse abundantly with water. Rinse mouth and drink water abundantly. Please consult a doctor if the ingested quantity is important. Do not bring to vomit. 5. How to Fight a Fire Extinguishment means : Non suitable extinguishment means : Stop fire with powder, or CO 2 or foam fire-extinguisher. Water (burning risks because of the very hot steam) 6. What to do in case of accidental dispersion Individual precautions : Environment Protection Control : Wear appropriate protection clothing and remove soiled clothing very quickly. If the oil is spread in large quantity, please use appropriate clothes such as boiler boots for cleaning. In case the spread oil quantity is not that important, cleaning can be done with the help of absorbent paper and gloves. Prevent the liquid to reach the drains, in order to avoid waters and ground contamination. Contact the local authorities. Cleaning : Pick up the spread product using sand, diatoms earth or any other suitable inert material. For disposal, see chapter Handling and Storage Handling : Please handle as per usual hygienic and safety industrial rules. In case of high temperature or important shear when handling, this might cause some vapors or sprays. Then it might be necessary to have some mechanical ventilation and local exhaustion system.

3 Storage : Please store in ambient temperature or in minimal required temperature, as stipulated in «Handling» chapter. 8. Exposure Control / Individual Protection Exposure parameters : Chemical name : Oil exposure in the air and in normal conditions of use. Mineral Oil. Short exposure : 5mg/m3. TLV-TWA 8 hours ACGIH (1998) Measures taken to reduce risk of exposure : Mechanical ventilation and local exhausting equipment shall be used to reduce contact with oil present in the air. Use oil-proof materials for equipments. Store as per recommended conditions. If the product is warmed up, make sure that you control the temperature to avoid excessive heat. Individual Protection Equipment : Respiratory Protection : If the product is warmed up while being handled, the user shall wear an appropriate mask with A1P2 or A2P2 filter. The use of a mask is not required in case of production handling if the ventilation conditions are good enough. Hands Protection : If there is any risk of repetitive contact with skin, use oil-proof protection gloves. Appropriate gloves are made of neoprene rubber, nitrile rubber, butadiene acrylonitrile or PVC. Please refer to CEN 420:94, CEN 374:1-3:94 and CEN 388:94 Eyes Protection : In case of projection risk, wear safety glasses. Skin and body Protection : Wear protection clothes and change them regularly. Hygiene : Act as per usual hygienic and safety industrial rules. 9. Stability and Reactivity Stability : To avoid : Dangerous decomposition products : Stable in normal temperature and pressure conditions. Start to decompose from 280 C. Excessive heating and contact with very oxidizing agents. Flammable Gas that might be noxious. From 270 C, before reaching decomposition temperature and in presence of air, there is some self-ignition risk. 11. Toxicological Informations Acute toxicity : Inhalation : Ingestion : Contact with skin : Contact with the eyes : Sensitisation : Available studies show an oral and dermic DL 50 >5000mg/kg value considered as a weak acute toxicity. Might cause acne. Might cause red spots and temporary pain. Carried out studies did not show any sensitisation. 12. Ecological Informations Mobility : Persistency and dissipation : Weak. Due to its non-solubility in water. Not immediately biodegradable. Some studies are showing primary inherent biodegradation, between 20 and 60%, based on the evolution of the CO 2 produced quantity.

5 Bio-accumulation : Ecotoxicity : Log P ow value is around >3,9 >6,0. Log P ow is used to evaluate bioconcentration in the fishes. A value >3,0 shows a possible bioconcentration. The size of the hydrocarbon molecules limits the bioconcentration risk. Aquatic toxicity data show values of LC 50 >1000 mg/1, considered as weakly toxic. However, studies about chronic toxicity do not show any danger in the long term for aquatic environment. 13. Observations Relative to Disposal This product wastes are not considered as dangerous waste. Product wastes and packagings must not be abandoned in nature but must be eliminated according to the national and local regulations. Instructions to empty the packagings: Drums or similar packagings : put the drum upside down and tilt it about 10 till it stops dripping (less than one drop per minute at 15 C). Product viscosity depends on temperature, and it is important not to empty the drums at too low temperature. It might be necessary to scrape off the inner sides to eliminate viscous products. When the drum has stopped dripping, send it for recycling if the quantity of residual product is less than 1%. If this quantity is more than 1%, the drum must be sent for destruction. The drums with less than 1% residues are not considered as dangerous waste. Please respect the local regulations. Disposable or multipurpose flexible bags : Follow the manufacturer s instructions. The remaining wastes can be eliminated by lifting the flexible bag to let the product run through the tube. Bottom wastes : roll the flexible bag towards the pipe in order to press the oil and drain it off. Polyethylene bags can be recycled or reduced to ashes. Please refer to local regulations. 14. Transportation Information These products are not classified as dangerous for road, sea or air freight, as per ADR, IMDG, IATA-DGR regulations. 15. 6 16. Other Information Information regarding labelling and ecotoxicity comply with Concawe report N 95/59, 98/54, 01/53 et 01/54. Classification is made as per Directive on dangerous substances n 67/548/EC up to the most recent ATP, Directive on dangerous formulations 1999/45/EC and Directive on Safety Datasheets 2001/58/EC and REACH (EC) No , according to the temporary arrangements.
