1 Invitation Letter f or the 2018 International Conference on EEE & Batteries Recycling and EPR Principle -Press Conference of White Paper on the WEEE Recycling Industry in China After 40 years of rapid development, China has become a major producer and consumer of electrical and electronic equipment. At the same time, China generates a great amount of e-waste each year. The China Household Electric Appliance Research Institute (CHEARI) and its excellent partners have hosted the International Conference on EEE & Recycling and EPR Principle (Conference) for ten years, starting in The Conference has attracted experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from America, Europe, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions all over the world. It has bridged cooperation amongst universities, research institutes, EEE producers, suppliers, service providers, and WEEE recyclers, as well as facilitated communication between the government and enterprises. As proposed by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, in order to speed up the reform of our ecological civilization and to reach the goal of building a beautiful China we must implement the "Extended Producer Responsibility System Implementation Plan" and the "Guidance on promoting innovation and application of supply chain, both of which were published by the State Council, CHEARI and partners organizing the 2018 Conference in Qingdao China. The aim of the 2018 Conference is to accelerate the establishment of an extended producer responsibility system in EEE and Battery industries via product eco-design, the use of recycled materials, the recycling of WEEE, and the promotion of awareness of the green supply chain (GSC) in terms of product life
