1 Kupu Sustainability Initiatives Hawai i Energy Fellw Psitin Descriptin Kupu, in cllabratin with Hawai i Energy, is seeking t hire ne (1) Sustainability Initiatives Fellw wh is a current higher educatin student r recent higher educatin graduate with a backgrund in business develpment, marketing and cmmunicatins, envirnmental studies, planning, creative media r ther discipline with a passin fr Hawai i s sustainable and clean energy future. What is Kupu Sustainability Initiatives? Sustainability Initiatives is ne f the (4) cre prgrams f Kupu, a 501c3 nn-prfit that aims t empwer yung adults t serve their cmmunities thrugh character building, service learning, and envirnmental stewardship. Sustainability Initiatives is a prfessinal develpment prgram f Kupu and is fcused n building the skillset f higher educatin students and recent graduates thrugh paid, mentred wrk experiences in the sustainability sectr. These psitins are held in cllabratin with private, gvernment, and nn-prfit rganizatins thrughut Hawaii and are dually fcused n mving sustainability frward while building an empwered and capable green wrkfrce in Hawaii. Fr this fellwship, Kupu Sustainability Initiatives is partnering with Hawai i Energy ( Psitin Overview Start Date: ASAP; mid-june 2017 End Date: June 30, 2018 Psitin Lcatin: Hnlulu: fellw may be required t wrk frm Hawai i Energy ffice/hme/schl/in the field at times Educatin Requirements: Current higher educatin student r recent higher educatin graduate (n mre than 2 years since graduatin) Hurs: hrs/week; schedule can be set n an individual basis within nrmal business hurs (M-F, 8am 5:30pm) Salary: $15/hur Benefits: 1 week f unpaid vacatin, if requested (dates negtiable) Intern Activities This psitin seeks a mtivated cllege/university student r recent higher educatin graduate (n mre than 2 years since graduatin) t wrk n energy efficiency related prjects. The selected fellw will reprt t the Sustainability Initiatives Prgram Manager at Kupu and representatives frm Hawai i Energy. The Hawai i Energy Fellw is expected t wrk clsely with this team t perfrm the fllwing activities by type: Hawai i Energy Business Team s Small Business Direct Install Prgram (SBDIL) 677 Ala Mana Blvd, Suite 1200, Hnlulu, HI p f inf@risehi.rg

2 Perfrm pst-inspectins fr lighting prjects and ther prjects as assigned; Learn and understand lighting technlgies; Generate reprts n inspected prjects fr Hawai i Energy; Wrk with Hawai i Energy custmers t set up meetings and get feedback regarding their satisfactin with wrk perfrmed; Assist with apprving lighting prjects in Hawai i Energy databases; Identify marketing & cmmunicatin pprtunities within the SBDIL prgram Hawai i Energy Cmmercial Business Prgram Prcess rebates fr energy efficiency prjects; Identify key market segments/custmers eligible fr energy efficiency retrfits; Supprt energy advisrs with benchmarking research Marketing & Cmmunicatins Prgram Assist Hawai i Energy with utreach and marketing pprtunities by hsting bth/table at energy events t infrming peple abut Hawai i Energy s missin Other duties as assigned Hawai i Energy Fellw will wrk with manager at Hawai i Energy t determine the degree t which they will priritize each activity. The Hawai i Energy Fellw is required t be/have: Enrlled in a cmmunity cllege, undergraduate, r graduate degree; r within 2 years since graduatin frm ne f these higher educatin institutins; Available t start the internship in mid-june 2017 and cmmit t the fellwship until June 30, 2018; Able t learn quickly and fllw directin with attentin t detail; Cmputer savvy with fluency in Micrsft Office and able t cnduct advanced internet research; Excellent verbal and written cmmunicatin skills; Able t cnduct him/herself in a prfessinal manner; A team player that wrks well with thers, but able t wrk independently; Mtivatin, passin and awareness fr lcal sustainability and clean energy issues and slutins; and Pssess a valid Driver s License. The Hawai i Energy Fellw is preferred t be/have: An undergraduate r graduate degree (r wrking twards a degree) in an interdisciplinary study that may include in business develpment, marketing and cmmunicatins, envirnmental studies, planning, creative media with a cumulative GPA f 3.0 r higher; 677 Ala Mana Blvd, Suite 1200, Hnlulu, HI p f inf@risehi.rg
