Our Vision Prosperity could never bebuilt it up on the political stability or economic growth; it will depend on the stability of health and the educationof a nation. Our Mission By taking each other s hands, we could assure our needs and protection, even without administrational heads. Summary of Project, Disease of kidney infection has highly increased during last decade in Sri Lanka, due to lack of consideration on nature beyond activities of mass development projects and use of modern technology in agriculture productivity. Most researches done by the different institutions had been found that, the highlyusage of chemical fertilizer which contained Glycoside is high toxicities for human body, had been a major reason for this. Due to the usage of fertilizer containing chemicals, water resources have been polluted in many agro-productive areas such as, North, North Central, North Eastern provinces and thus many patients infected with Kidney diseases have been reported. Refer to the research done by Dr. NihalJayathilake, Dr, ShanthiMendis, Dr,PalithaMaheepala and Dr, Firdosi R Mehetha, a group of medical specialists which issued in 2013, 4 Page
It claims that this growth of kidney patients is higher in last few years rather than early statistics of health in the island. And also revealed how the victims are effected based on different variables. Results: The age-standardized prevalence of CKDu was 12.9% (95% confidence interval [CI] = 11.5% to 14.4%) in Males and 16.9% (95% CI = 15.5% to 18.3%) in females. Severe stages of CKDu were more frequent in males (stage 3: males versus females = 23.2% versus 7.4%; stage 4: males versus females = 22.0% versus 7.3%; P < 0.001). The risk Was increased in individuals aged >39 years and those who farmed (chena cultivation) (OR [odds ratio] = 1.926, 95% CI = to and OR = 1.195, 95% CI = to respectively, P < 0.05). The risk was reduced in Individuals who were male or who engaged in paddy cultivation (OR = 0.745, 95% CI = to and OR = 0.732, 95% CI = to respectively, P < 0.05). The mean concentration of cadmium in urine was Significantly higher in those with CKDu (1.039 μg/g) compared with controls in the endemic and non-endemic Areas (0.646 μg/g, P < and μg/g, P < 0.05) respectively. Urine cadmium sensitivity and specificity were 70% and 68.3% respectively (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve = 0.682, 95% CI = 0.61 to 0.75, Cut-off value μg/g). A significant dose effect relationship was seen between urine cadmium concentrations And CKDu stage (P < 0.05). Urine cadmium and arsenic concentrations in individuals with CKDu were at levels Known to cause kidney damage. Food items from the endemic area contained cadmium and lead above reference Levels. Serum selenium was <90 μg/l in 63% of those with CKDu and pesticides residues were above reference Levels in 31.6% of those with CKDu. Conclusions: These results indicate chronic exposure of people in the endemic area to low levels of cadmium Refer to above details and few researches done by other international and local organizations also reveal this disastrous error is done by chemical importers and users without proper evaluation with officials under administrational institutes of government who s taking responsibilities on agriculture of Sri Lanka. The following chart reveals the arsenic and other 5 Page
optical chemical rates absorbed with drinking water. Ministry of Health with W.H.O. trying to find permanent solution, and other several business organizations had taken few voluntary basis clinically assistance programs. But these elements were penetrating just a walking interview works only and added some publicity for their business ventures. As a nongovernmental organization we believe that requirement of purified water resource is essential for following identified areas. According to local government institutes of highly effected districts, none has found a proper system to reassure the establishment of clean water based sources. 7 Dr, Firdosi R Mehetha for CKDu national reaserch for Klidneydeseas. Detatils from Research done by hondr, nihaljayathilake, Dr, ShanthiMendis, Proposed project, Purification of water and sanitary system is not a new methodology for Sri Lanka. We ve got vast experience through our history in this regard, even in 3 rd century BC. We used these filter technology by using natural raw materials. Even today we could find the remainingof those methods and equipments in museum at Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa archeological sites. We hope to introduce earth-born water wells totally equipped with this ancient technology as a purifying water resource around water polluted areas. (See figure 01). 7 Page
Method of purification, Basically we ve created a model agro type well at Udawalawe area as an experimental sample. Before the construction of purifying filter inside the well, we tested a sample of water at the Medical Research Institute Colombo, and found the PH values of the said area earth born water. The technique of filter similar to the method which used in early Sri Lanka in 2 nd and the 3 rd centuries. Technically we used ring type layers around the well wall and filled raw materials which filtered the earth born water resource and purified properly. Content from CKDu report source on water Beneficiaries of proposed project, Refer to our feasibility reports; we identified over 143 villages living with 1.45 million people need our immediate concerns to rehabilitate their drinking water facility.many of among the infected with disease contaminated with high level of CREATININE as the percentage of 7.2 or over. It believed as six times over than the normal level to be in human body. On this level means their kidneys already malfunctioning due to disease. All these patients need HAEMODIALYSIS as priority solution for saving their lives. This affection is totally a man-made error. People of these areas are mostly identified as famers and theyare addicted for use of highly toxic agro chemicals and fertilizer other than organic 8 Page
productivity. Many political bodies still trying to play their role with the party political manifestos andthey always used thistragedy for their political future only. Still many hospitals around those areasare not been equipped with minimum dialyzing facilities, and not either have considered on supplying of purified water to those areas in stable policy of health protection. We hope to join our helping hands with those village people and initially to provide purified water for them as one of the permanent solutions to eradicate the deadly disease of Kidney failure. Area of the project implementation, Especially we concern that many villages in Anuradhapura Vavunia,Polonnaruwa of the North Central province, badulla and Hambanthota areas of Uva and Southern provinces, had been identified as most immediate beneficiaries living areas. This chart gives the basic statistics of increasing kidney disease infected patients in those effected areas due to usage agricultural chemical products of since 1975 up to 2015 ime of within a as four decades. As per the indications shows the resources of water completely decreasing from the level of natural values, continuously increased the total amount of patients rapidly while decreasing the values of organic agro productivity making its way to this tragedy. Budget Requirements, Excavation + construction of filter rings with total purification system. Estimated value per each well. Expected amount to be constructed by project. Total expenditure for expected earth born water well project. Rs; 2,000,000.00(2 millions). 25 no s. Rs; 50,000,000.00(50millions). 9 Page Desire impact and outcome of project, We do believe that the basic requirements of life are essential for mankind. It helps to
make accuracy of health and more in living. Without these principles any nation couldn t attain their prosperity. Unfortunately even after commemorating our 68 th independency still we re caged in personal or party political manifestos without making their decisions upon the development of county or nation. Still we are partially departed by each other on racial or bilingual basis. Until we fail to make up we failed in make our senses to become as one nation and one country, all disasters will aggress our lives without mercy in this scenario. As a non governmental organization we hope to gather with people of Sri Lanka on any difficult occasion such as this, to reassure the general lifestyle of the nation as our priority aspect. From this project we need to provide most essential requirement of life. Throughout this project we keep our helping hands together with the people of effected areas until rehabilitating the facility of drinking water. Refer to our estimates this project will serve for more than 50,000 people around identified areas with the supply of purified water. On this project we always keep our coordination with the people of those villages as responsible stake holder in their capacity. And will be joined with local government institutes of relevant areas with administrational divisional secretaries and the irrigation expertsand environmental experts in the country for the success of the project.
