2 Why are we meeting? To bring CAG up to date on what has been accomplished To prepare CAG for the upcoming events: Construction is getting close: we are on schedule to bid in late 2009 and start construction early 2010 SEPA and NEPA notification will be going out in the next few months Permit notifications will be issued for a variety of permits we working on Initiation of a community information campaign

4 Project Purpose PURPOSE Improve immediate and long-range transportation mobility. Address current and future traffic demand from areas in and around the UPDs. Connect areas of planned urban density to employment and service centers of Redmond, Bellevue, and Seattle. NEED Improve Network capacity Traffic safety System linkage Modal interrelationships

8 Schedule Design is now 70% complete, acquisition of property and permits in process Environmental Assessment to be completed in Final draft is now in federal review Property Acquisition in process Permits being negotiated and acquired Construction of Phase One ( NE Union Hill and 196th segments) to start January 2010, ends December 2011

Consultation with NOAA Fisheries regarding essential fish habitat as defined in the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act for potential impacts on listed species 3. Clean Water Act Section 404 individual permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for impacts on waters of the United States 4. Consultation with and approval from the State Historic Preservation Officer related to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act 5. Clean Water Act Section 401 water quality certification from Ecology 6. National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) construction permit from Ecology 7. Forest practices approval from the Washington Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) 8. Hydraulic project approval from the WDFW 9. Shoreline substantial development permit from King County 10. Clearing and grading permit from King County 11. Floodplain certification from King County 12. Shoreline substantial development permit from the City of Redmond 13. Clearing and grading permit from the City of Redmond d 14. Special use permit from the City of Redmond.
