2 Florida s Continued Growth An additional 5.4 million residents are expected by Strategic investments to our infrastructure allows Florida to keep pace with the growing demands and prepare for future growth. A fully funded budget will ensure FDOT is able to keep pace with projected growth. 2

8 Work Zone Safety FDOT remains an active participant in the Florida Work Zone Safety Coalition and is committed to increasing safety in work zones. FDOT has executed a new FHP Hireback contract and its usage is increasing. FDOT has revised standard specifications to include the use of off-duty law enforcement during night lane closures on facilities with speed limits > 55 mph; and for moving contractor equipment on project sites. 8
