3 company brochure Our technology 3 Our technology Tiny pores that are hugely efficient Water is one of our most valuable resources. Whether as drinking water or as an industrial raw material, water is of critical importance to humanity. Ensuring the environmentally-friendly processing and effective reuse of this important resource represents a significant challenge and responsibility for both current and future generations. What applications does ultrafiltration (UF) have? UF membranes are the ideal technology for production of drinking water and process water from surface water, well water and spring water pretreatment of sea water in desalination plants in combination with reverse osmosis or thermal treatment treatment/reuse of waste water closing water cycles by preparing water for industrial use Say goodbye to sand filtration Ultrafiltration replaces conventional water treatment methods such as sand filtration by offering a number of key advantages. UF reliably filters out suspended solids and microorganisms from the water being treated. Moreover, it is not dependent on external influences (e.g. seasonal variations characterized by heavy rainfall, storms and other factors) which means it can provide consistently high purity and water quality. The userfriendly, fully automatic and cost effective operation of the UF system is a further important benefit. How does UF work? inge UF is an in-to-out filtration system in which the water to be cleaned is pumped at low pressure through the capillaries of the fibers and then through the porous membrane structure, i.e. from the inside out. The pores on the inner walls of the capillaries are so small that they reliably prevent suspended solids, germs and even viruses from passing through. The clean water collects on the outer surface of the membrane fibers. In contrast to the out-to-in method which pumps water at significantly higher pressure through the capillaries from the outside in and uses additional compressed air for cleaning our method is highly economical and requires considerably less energy. UF as a core component of sea water desalination Oceans and seas are the largest reservoirs of water on Earth, accounting for 97% of the world's water. For decades, drinking water and water for domestic use have been obtained through the desalination of sea water. In the past this was mostly achieved using thermal methods an expensive option due to the amount of energy consumed. The best alternative for the future, however, is a combination of ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis. Thanks to its consistently high filtrate quality, UF has established itself as a standard part of the pretreatment process.
4 4 company brochure Our products Our products Overview Our products are based around the Multibore membrane specially developed and patented by inge which is acknowledged worldwide as a pioneering ultrafiltration technology. It consists of a porous plastic foam structure. The membrane By combining seven capillaries in a honeycomb structure we have created an extremely stable fiber which has a remarkably long service life. The fiber does the actual filtration work, using tiny pores just 20 nanometers across to filter everything out of the water that doesn't belong there. Our Multibore membrane* delivers a consistently high level of filtrate quality, even in cases where the composition of the original water varies. The decision on whether to choose our thinner membrane with a capillary diameter of 0.9 mm or the thicker membrane with a capillary diameter of 1.5 mm depends on the level of contamination of the raw water. The modules Up to 2,000 membrane fibers are embedded in each of our dizzer ultrafiltration modules. Different module sizes are available to cater to a range of applications. These range from small modules for use in domestic environments to large highcapacity modules for industrial use in waterworks, wastewater treatment plants, power stations, etc. These larger modules can process some 6m 3 an hour. * Raw material = BASF Ultrason Stable fibers that won't break It is essential that UF fibers don't break, otherwise viruses and bacteria could escape and find their way into water that has already been cleaned. inge has succeeded in stabilizing the fibers to such an extent that breakages are practically non-existent.
5 company brochure Smart design 5 Smart design Comprehensive service To make it easier for system integrators to use our products, our modules are designed to be assembled into compact racks which we call 'T-Rack s'. This modular system offers tremendous flexibility. Our rack systems The water feed and discharge pipes are connected directly to the modules (T-pieces). Thanks to the use of standardized components, we can create suitable T-Rack s whatever your plant size or capacity requirements. Our multiple configuration options include two-row and four-row arrangements with ultrafiltration lines positioned next to each other or one behind the other. The compact design of our T-Rack s means they offer maximum performance in minimum space a crucial point for many plant construction companies. Our racks are also simple to install, easy to operate, extremely durable and low maintenance. And it's easy to expand your system at a later date thanks to the flexible and modular nature of the T-Rack concept. A full range of services In addition to our globally renowned membrane solutions and our modular product portfolio, we also offer our customers a full range of pre- and after-sales services covering all aspects of UF technology through our dedicated Technical Sales department. These services include advice on deploying UF technology, design checks, pilot projects, technical training programs, support in installation and commissioning and much, much more. Connecting pipework included On request, inge can also provide the interface to the plant's connecting pipework (main pipelines). This releases the system integrator from a further part of the design and construction work by allowing them to take advantage of a standardized turnkey solution which is perfectly tailored to our T-Rack s all from a single source.
