1 PROGRAM Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment Training and Research Workshop 21 st 24 th March 2016 VENUE: G Smart Water Research Centre Edmund Rice Drive, Southport QLD
2 Presenters Professor B. Rose Professor Rose is an international expert in water microbiology, water quality and public health safety. She has been involved in the investigation of numerous waterborne outbreaks worldwide. Her work has examined new molecular methods for waterborne pathogens and zoonotic agents such as Cryptosporidium and enteric viruses and source tracking techniques. Prof. Rose has contributed substantially to the development of the Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment (QMRA) framework and is the developer and curator of the QMRA wiki. She is considered one of the leading international experts in this field. Dr Weir An Assistant Professor at Temple University, Dr. Weir is the Associate Director for the Center for Advancing Microbial Risk Assessment (CAMRA). His research includes advancing environmental and engineered systems modelling techniques for water and air hazards. Dr Jade Mitchell Dr Jade Mitchell is an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University and has extensive experience in developing and providing training in QMRA tools and models. She is a collaborating principal investigator in the Centre for Advancing Microbial Risk Assessment (CAMRA). Dr Susan Petterson Dr Susan Petterson is the Director of Water and Health and is a senior risk assessment expert who has expertise in water-related QMRA both nationally and internationally. She has been involved with the WHO working group for harmonisation of microbial risk assessment since 2009, and is the lead author of their QMRA guidance document to be launched later this year. Susan serves as an editor for the Journal of Water and Health and is based in Port Stephens, New South Wales.
