3 ABOUT TRANSCANADA For over 65 years, TransCanada has proudly delivered the energy that millions of North Americans rely on to cool and heat our homes, fuel transportation and power industry. Our facilities operate safely, reliably and with minimal impact on the environment, while our approximately 7,000 employees play an active part in the communities where they live in Canada, the United States and Mexico. THREE COMPLEMENTARY ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE BUSINESSES Natural Gas Pipelines Liquids Pipelines Energy Our 91,500-kilometre (56,900-mile) network of natural gas pipelines supplies more than 25 per cent of the clean-burning natural gas consumed daily across North America. This pipeline network strategically connects growing supply to key markets across our three operating geographies of Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. We are also the continent s largest provider of natural gas storage, with 653 billion cubic feet of regulated and unregulated storage capacity. POWER GENERATION MIX Our 4,300-kilometre (2,700-mile) Keystone Pipeline System transports 545,000 barrels of crude oil per day, or approximately 20 per cent of western Canadian exports to key refinery markets in the U.S. Midwest and Gulf Coast where it is converted into fuel and other useful petroleum products. Keystone has safely delivered more than 1.5 billion barrels since it began operation in June OUR MISSION TransCanada owns or has interests in 12 power generation facilities with capacity of approximately 6,200 megawatts enough to power more than 6 million homes. Over half of the power we provide is generated from emission-less sources including nuclear, wind and solar and we are leaders in the development and operation of high efficiency, natural gas-fired power facilities. To provide reliable supplies of energy across the continent safely and responsibly. We are proud that millions of North Americans can depend on us for the energy they need. Nuclear 51% Wind 6% Solar 1% 6,200 MW Natural Gas 42% OUR VISION To be the leading energy infrastructure company in North America, focusing on pipeline and power generation opportunities where we have, or can develop, a significant competitive advantage. OUR VALUES Values guide how we work, treat one another and interact with our stakeholders every single day. Our values are safety, integrity, responsibility and collaboration. 4 CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY It s not just what we do that s important, it s how we do it. We know that long-term success depends on our ability to balance safety, profitability and social and environmental responsibility. When we get that balance right, the communities where we operate benefit from our presence. SAFETY 24/7 Delivering energy safely is our top priority, and our goal is to ensure that the public, our employees and the environment aren t affected by an incident involving our assets. We are proud to have safety records that are among the best in the industry. Our pipeline and power facilities operated throughout 2016 without any major incidents, but we believe that no safety-related incidents are acceptable and continue to strive for our goal of zero incidents at our facilities. Last year we invested $809 million on asset integrity and preventative maintenance, including conducting more than 200 in-line inspections on our pipelines. We also invested more than $20 million in research and development into new technologies and practices to enhance the safety and efficiency of our operations. Ensuring we are prepared in the unlikely event of an emergency is also part of our commitment to safety. TransCanada worked with local and public agencies to complete 117 emergency drills and exercises in By working with our communities through regular emergency drills and exercises, we build relationships with local first responders and community officials to achieve a coordinated and effective response. PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT Our ongoing goal is to responsibly manage and minimize our environmental footprint in everything that we do. That means we are always working to reduce our land disturbance, carbon intensity, energy consumption and water use throughout the entire life cycle of our assets. As an energy infrastructure company, we recognize our role in the larger energy system, including our own emission of greenhouse gases. As leaders in the development of a balanced and sustainable energy future, we have invested more than $5 billion in emission-less energy sources including nuclear, wind and solar accounting for over half of the power we produce. We believe that when we build an asset, we temporarily borrow the land. We have successfully reclaimed hundreds of thousands of acres in many different ecological regions throughout North America and we use industry-leading techniques to build and operate pipelines safely around water bodies and other important environmental features. We undertake field studies and consult with stakeholders and Indigenous communities to develop specific environmental protection plans on all our projects to ensure all natural resources are protected to maintain their natural function within the environment. 2 TransCanada AT A GLANCE

5 SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES We are proud of the positive, long-lasting relationships we have in the thousands of communities where we operate. We are committed to collaborating with our neighbours to ensure we positively contribute in a meaningful way. By engaging early and listening to our stakeholders and Indigenous communities, we are able to create project plans with better outcomes for everyone involved. We stay in regular contact with more than 95,000 landowners across our network and in 2016 alone, we engaged with more than 500 Indigenous communities in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. Another way we respond to local needs is by investing in causes we ve heard will help our communities thrive. In 2016, TransCanada invested $16.6 million in more than 1,200 non-profit organizations. This includes more than $2.8 million that our employees directed to causes they care about, along with over 11,000 volunteer hours they contributed through our employee giving and volunteering program.
