2 3 Coordinate plant, equipment and materials for pipeline construction and maintenance operations 20 credits and reporting damage to services, know about spacings - understand soil properties (ground inundation and vibration), materials properties, and compaction techniques - trenching know requirements and make sure they are done properly, deal with situations where things don t go according to plan, how differences in soil affects trenching and safety requirements. These will be assessed contextually and specific unit standards written for specialist topics if required. - Geotech/soil properties/effect of ground conditions on method used - Know about the method and apply it appropriately - Set up site, equipment, materials, disestablish site - Operate the specialist plant or equipment - Avoid damage NEW Describe trenchless pipe installation and rehabilitiation methodology Commented and [WA20]: Would cover general trenchless its application (10 credits) approach why it s used, advanatages/disadvantages etc, then go into detail about a specific one.
