4 (II) Activity 1. Construction, operation or decommissioning of the Project involving actions, which will cause physical changes in the locality (topography, land use, changes in water bodies, etc.) S.. Information/Checklist confirmation / 1.1 Permanent or temporary change in land use, land cover or topography including increase in intensity of land use (with respect to local land use plan) 1.2 Clearance of existing land, vegetation and buildings? quantities /rates, wherever possible) with source of information data The Quarry operations envisaged for the proposed plan period & during the tenure of the lease period involves change in land use/topography covering an extent 20.0 Ha. The subject area and surroundings consist of several granite quarries. The proposed permanent/temporary change in land use or land cover for the ensuing Plan period is given in Mining Plan. There will be clearance of existing vegetation wherever required. However, as the existing vegetation density in the mine lease is only about 0.4, no heavy clearance of vegetation will be required. There are no existing buildings in the lease area and hence no proposal of clearance of existing buildings is made 1.3 Creation of new land uses? The proposed Quarry activities will result in change/creation of new land use. The waste lands in this part of the region will be judiciously & scientifically explored & systematically worked so as to create a good Quarry methodology for proper utilization of the granite deposits in view of Granite Conservation and Development Rules apart from proper reclamation of the subject area for creation of new land use to suit the local requirement i.e. Afforestation of the Quarry lease area, development of infrastructure, roads & pits for storage of rain water & rain water harvesting measures.

5 1.4 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore houses, soil testing? The area has been studied for estimation of colour granite reserves by Geological Mapping. Accordingly reserves have been calculated & Mine Plan Prepared & submitted to Department of Mines & Geology. 1.5 Construction works? Since this is a Existing quarry, construction/erection of temporary structures for mines office, rest shelter, first aid station, sanitation etc., are proposed on non-mineralized areas of Quarry lease. 1.6 Demolition works? demolition works involved 1.7 Temporary sites used for construction works major housing for construction or housing of construction workers? workers is envisages at the mines 1.8 Above ground buildings, structures or t applicable earthworks including linear structures, cut and fill or excavations 1.9 Underground works including mining or t applicable tunneling? 1.10 Reclamation works? As the Quarry activities are expected to continue further & only a small portion of the lease area is exposed for Quarry, proposed reclamation programme involves only Afforestation works and other Environmental Protection measures like, retaining walls, and toe drains etc., during the first plan period Dredging? t Applicable 1.12 Offshore structures? t Applicable 1.13 Production and manufacturing processes? About Cum/Year of Colour Granite will be extraction by operations such as drilling, Wire Saw Cutting, loading and unloading Facilities for storage of goods or materials? t applicable The colour Granite is transported directly to requirements of the user industry/buyers for shipment Facilities for treatment or disposal of solid waste or liquid effluents? There will be no liquid effluent generated from the proposed Quarry activities. Hence no treatment is proposed. Externally dumps are to be stabilized with afforestation. The quarry pit shall also help in storage/ collection of rain water.

6 1.16 Facilities for long term housing of operational workers? 1.17 New road, rail or sea traffic during construction or operation? 1.18 New road, rail, air waterborne or other transport infrastructure including new or altered routes and stations, ports, airports etc? 1.19 Closure or diversion of existing transport routes or infrastructure leading to changes in traffic movements? 1.20 New or diverted transmission lines or pipelines? 1.21 Impoundment, damming, culverting, realignment or other changes to the hydrology of watercourses or aquifers? separate township is proposed for the mining project. Haul roads will be constructed in the lease area. new rail network or sea route is proposed for the mining project. Approach road for the mine lease from the foothill will be constructed. other major road, rail, air or waterborne transport network is envisaged for the mining project. such diversions are envisaged. such diversions are envisaged. such diversions are envisaged Stream crossings? streams exist 1.23 Abstraction or transfers of water form ground or surface waters? 1.24 Changes in water bodies or the land surface affecting drainage or run-off? 1.25 Transport of personnel or materials for construction, operation or decommissioning? 1.26 Long-term dismantling or decommissioning or restoration works? 1.27 Ongoing activity during decommissioning which could have an impact on the environment? 1.28 Influx of people to an area in either temporarily or permanently? 1.29 Introduction of alien species? t envisaged 1.30 Loss of native species or genetic diversity? t envisaged 1.31 Any other actions? --- Part of the water required for the mining activities will be sourced from groundwater resources. The rainwater constitutes the drainage system of the area. Except this no other perennial watercourses exist in this area. The mined out minerals will be transported to consumers by trucks directly manually. dismantling works are envisaged. Temporary change in land use pattern occurs. The existing scanty vegetative land will be converted into lush green cover. major influx is envisaged due to the mining project, as the total manpower required during operational stage will be only 35 including labour & will be met from the local area only.

7 2. Use of Natural resources for construction or operation of the Project (such as land, water, materials or energy, especially any resources which are non-renewable or in short supply): S..
