2 Canada has a strong industrial economy thanks to its energy sources and raw materials. Canada s biggest natural resources include oil, natural gas, coal, minerals, soil, timber, and fish Natural Resources Canada s Natural Resources Canada has significant proven r e s e r v e s o f c r u d e o i l. Canadian natural gas reserves were 58 trillion cubic feet as of year-end Potential reserves are also found in Northern Canada where an estimated 30% of Canada s conventional oil resources are located. Large fishing industries depend on the fish and shellfish. Overfishing has had a negative impact on the industry however.
