Technology Innovation Leadership Award Bio-hazardous Waste Treatment North America, 2014 It is daunting to develop an efficient and sustainable biohazardous waste treatment technology. Frost & Sullivan feels that the ability to treat bio-hazardous waste energy efficiently and cost effectively gives the Ozonator technology a significant advantage over the other existing competing technologies. This zero-emission technology effectively addresses important industry challenges, such as lack of treatment efficiency and environmental sustainability, as well as high energy and operational costs. Hence, this technology can be considered one of the most important biohazardous waste treatment technologies for the future. Key Benchmarking Criteria for Technology Innovation Leadership Award For the Technology Innovation Leadership Award, the following criteria were used to benchmark Ozonator Industries' performance against key competitors: Uniqueness of Technology Impact on New Products/Applications Impact on Functionality Impact on Customer Value Relevance of Innovation to Industry

Introducing the new NG-3000 Building on the success of the OZONATOR NG-1000, we are pleased to introduce the new NG-3000 model OZONATOR with a 50% increase in capacity, the same footprint, easy to install, effortless to operate, simple to maintain and still zero emissions. The OZONATOR advanced technology, using ozone to process and sterilize medical and bio-hazard waste is the most sustainable and cost effective alternative to incineration and autoclave treatment available. We would be pleased to work with your group or organization to promote and ensure a cleaner, safer environment. Sincerely Peter K. Peter Klaptchuk President (inventor and designer of the NG-1000 and NG-3000) OZONATOR Industries Limited July 2012

Bio-hazardous Waste - Defined Bio-hazardous waste means waste that requires biological inactivation in an approved manner prior to final disposal and includes the following: human cell lines and tissue cultures; organisms with recombinant DNA; cultures and stocks of infectious agents; potentially infectious bacteria, viruses, and spores; toxins; live and attenuated vaccines; blood and blood products; carcasses; tissue specimens; recognizable human or animal body parts; soil with pathogens; and lab-ware that has come in contact with aforementioned waste streams. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) Waste generated by health care activities includes a broad range of materials, from used needles and syringes to soiled dressings, body parts, diagnostic samples, blood, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and radioactive materials. Poor management of health care waste potentially exposes health care workers, waste handlers, patients and the community at large to infection, toxic effects and injuries, and risks polluting the environment. It is essential that all medical waste materials are segregated at the point of generation, appropriately treated and disposed of safely. World Health Organization WHO (

OZONATOR - Bio-Hazardous Waste Treatment with ZERO Emissions Up to 1200 kg per hour Harnessing the power of nature to help preserve our environment NG-3000 OZONE (O3) TECHNOLOGY 6 Log10 reduction Sterilization %

OZONE OZONE purifies and sanitizes the air we breathe, the water we drink, and food we eat. OZONE is a form of oxygen, consisting of three oxygen molecules (O3). Unlike diatomic oxygen (O2 the breathable oxygen present in the atmosphere), ozone is very unstable, and decays back into O2 within about 30 minutes under normal atmospheric conditions. OZONE is a powerful oxidizing agent. It is able to oxidize a number of molecules including metals, nitrogen oxides, carbon, ammonia, and sulfides to mention a few. OZONE is effective to kill essentially all pathogens including bacteria, fungi, viruses, as well as prions. OZONE is of particular value as a disinfectant, as it is able to promote the oxidation of carbon-carbon double bonds (C=C). This type of bond is found in many biological molecules, and in other types of organic compounds, most notably pharmaceuticals. 3-O2 => 2-O3

The Facts about Ozone Ozone in use as a sterilizing agent for over 100 years Proven operational safety and efficacy Kills all known pathogens Does not promote resistance Leaves no residues Nature s most effective and efficient bactericides and fungicides OZONATOR technology is certified 6 log10 reduction using ozone Ozone converts back to oxygen naturally Ozone is 1.66 times heavier than air Standard biological indicators used for regular testing and verification Water 0.5 liters of water is injected into the treatment chamber each cycle to provide a relative humidity (RH) of greater than 70% for the waste material. The injected water helps disburse the ozone in the chamber. Additionally, water vapor in the presence of ozone, will form hydroxyl radicals to support the sterilization of the waste, specifically destroying oxidative cells and red blood cells.

The Canadian Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program is delivered by ETV Canada under a license agreement from Environment Canada. The Canadian ETV Program is designed to support Canada s environment industry by providing credible and independent verification of technology performance claims. Performance Claim The efficacy of the Ozonator NG-1000 for treating bio-hazardous and regulated medical wastes has been tested employing a surrogate bacterium, Bacillus subtilus (B. atrophaeus), and a surrogate waste composed of 10% glass/sharp, 30% plastic, 20% paper, 20% cloth/woven materials, and 20% liquids/organics. The waste was shredded, loaded into the treatment chamber and ozonated for 900 seconds (or 15 minutes). The ozone concentration in the treatment chamber ranged from 4000 to 8000 ppm; temperature ranged between 17 to 24 C; and humidity was between 70 and 100%. Test results show the Ozonator NG-1000 was able to kill B. subtilus and reduce its viability by at least 6 orders of magnitude or 6 log10 with 95% confidence. The Ozonator Industries NG-1000 employs ozone for inactivation of pathogens and infectious disease-causing agents after shredding the waste and reducing its volume by about 90%. The Ozonator NG-1000 is designed to treat bio-hazardous and regulated medical wastes either onsite or off-site. A cleaner, safer environment

HEALTH CARE WITHOUT HARM HCWH GIVES THE OZONE TECHNOLOGY THE "GREEN LIGHT. After an extensive review, Health Care Without Harm, a global coalition of 443 organizations in 52 countries that work together to protect health by reducing pollution in the health care industry, have added the patented technology developed by Ozonator Industries to their list of approved Non-Incineration Medical Waste Treatment Technologies. WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION Waste generated by health care activities includes a broad range of materials, from used needles and syringes to soiled dressings, body parts, diagnostic samples, blood, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and radioactive materials. Poor management of health care waste potentially exposes health care workers, waste handlers, patients and the community at large to infection, toxic effects and injuries, and risks polluting the environment. It is essential that all medical waste materials are segregated at the point of generation, appropriately treated and disposed of safely. To reduce the burden of disease, health-care waste needs sound management, including alternatives to incineration.

Sustainable Technology NG-3000 The OZONATOR technology is sustainable. By using ozone technology, we no longer need to put the environment at risk. Using only oxygen from air (converted to ozone), a small amount of water, less than 2 liters per hour and a little electricity, results in a very small environmental footprint and a large step forward towards a cleaner and safer environment.
