1 Observation of Oil & Gas Conservation Mass Awareness Campaign in Eastern Asset, Oil India Limited As per the directive of MOP&NG, Oil and Gas Conservation Mass Awareness Campaign (Observed as Oil & Gas Conservation Fortnight earlier) was observed in Eastern Asset, Oil India Limited during the period The programme had been named as Saksham-2017 signifying enabling the people to enhance awareness about the need, issues and solution for conservation and acquire capability on effective utilization of petroleum products. Unlike the previous years, this year the duration of the programmes was one month which was earlier one fortnight only. The following programmes were organized during observance of Saksham : Inauguration of Saksham-2017: Oil & Gas Conservation Mass Awareness Campaign, Saksham-2017 was inaugurated at Eastern Asset by Sri A K Sarma, Asset Manager (Eastern Asset) by hoisting the flag of Saksham-2017 at Main Office, Eastern Asset, Digboi on Team Eastern Asset took the pledge on oil and gas conservation during the inauguration programme. Asset Manager addressed the gathering on the needs of conservation of oil and gas and urged everybody to contribute towards oil and gas conservation. The inauguration programme was followed by cycle rally which was organised to promote oil and gas conservation among the masses.

4 : Van publicity: Publicity drive for promotion of awareness for oil and gas conservation was organised in Digboi and nearby areas. The publicity drive covered educational institutes, public places and OIL s installations. The publicly team distributed leaflets containing information for oil and gas conservation at public places. The people were also apprised about various means for conservation of energy. A model demonstrating the use of alternate energy in place of conventional energy was also displayed during the publicity drive.

6 : Emission check up camp: A camp for check up of emission from vehicles was organized. The emissions from the vehicles running in the locality were tested and the owners were apprised about the need of emission check up. They were also apprised how proper monitoring of emission can optimize the fuel consumption : Quiz competition among the employees: Quiz competition among the employees were organized at Main Office, Eastern Asset. The questions asked in the competition focussed on conservation of energy. The competition was like an interactive session as the answers were discussed among the employees and suggestions for energy conservation were outputted after the discussion.

7 : Drawing, essay writing and quiz competition among students: Drawing, essay writing and quiz competitions among the students of educational institutes of Digboi and nearby area were organized at Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya Auditorium. The subjects of the competition were related to energy conservation. Great responses were received from the students as it was observed that students from Margherita also took part in the competitions.

8 : Open speech competition among employees: Open speech competition among employees was organized on the subject- Energy conservation-at my home and at my workplace. Great responses were received from the employees as the enthusiastically took part in the competition and expressed their views in this matter : Street play: Street play promoting the awareness of oil and gas conservation was organized at public places of Digboi. Pothar, a drama group from Duliajan was invited for this purpose. The street play was appreciated by the public and they expressed their learning after the play. They also requested to continue such street play in future.

9 : Mini marathon: Mini marathon competition among employees for promotion of oil and gas conservation was organized at Digboi : Concluding function Concluding function of Saksham-2017 was organized at Luit Silpi Samaj Auditorium, Digboi. Sri A Medhi, Surface Manager (Eastern Asset) chaired the meeting. Smt I Kalita, Chief Manager (Tech Audit) and Sri A Arandhara, Sr Manager (Tech Audit) were present in the meeting as special guest. Sri B P Saikia, Coordinator of Saksham-2017 addressed the gathering and apprised them about the need of energy conservation for better economy of India. Chief Manager (Tech Audit) and Sr Manager (Tech Audit) also

10 addressed the gathering and apprised them about the vision of Saksham Surface Manager (Eastern Asset), in his speech apprised the gathering about the need of energy conservation from global point of view and various strategies of government for reducing India s dependency on other countries for oil and gas. Prizes of various competition organized during observance of Saksham-2017 were distributed during the meeting. Sri T Baruah, President (Oil & Gas Employees Union, Eastern Asset) offered the vote of thanks at the end of the meeting. Representatives of Digboi Press Club were also present during the meeting.
