8 Compactness at the cost of Reliability Low LiBr temp. Higher Absorbity More capacity from M/C DISTANCE ONLY 5º FROM CRYSTALLISATION LINE (OTHERS) CRYSTALLISATION POINT 36ºc 41ºc 50ºc CRYSTALLISATION LINE CONCENTRATION LINES OTHER S RATED ABSORBER INLET CONDITION (From operation manual) THERMAX RATED ABSORBER INLET CONDITION 64% CONCENTRATION LINE DISTANCE MORE THAN 10º FROM CRYSTALLISATION LINE (THERMAX) Tube Crystallisation JACKET TUBE FOR TUBE CRYSTALLISATION Thermax has designed unique crystallisation prevention logic which is as explained below - LiBr solution crystallises at a particular temperature and concentration. The variation of concentration of LiBr with respect to temperature of the solution is plotted in the form of a graph. The graph also shows the crystallisation line of LiBr at various temperatures and concentrations. Crystallisation of LiBr solution in vapour absorption machines can be prevented by preventing the LiBr from operating at any point close to the crystallisation line. Thus, in Thermax s crystallisation free machines, it is ensured that LiBr operates always at a safe distance from the crystallisation line. The concentration of the strong solution of LiBr is measured continuously and accurately. Incorporating the most advanced & unique logic the concentration is always kept at a safe distance above the crystallisation point. 8

9 Inherent Features SERIES FLOW DESIGN Thermax uses more reliable advanced series flow design for heat exchangers. Thermax has designed the High Temperature Generator very efficiently to lower the LiBr volume. This ensures lower energy consumption at start up. LiBr temperature is around 155 C and LiBr concentration is only 61%. This reduces the corrosion effect of LiBr & enhances life of the chiller. PART LOAD PERFORMANCE Thermax chillers are designed at ARI 560 / JIS standards as applicable & run satisfactorily at even 10% load. ABSORBENT & REFRIGERANT PUMPS Normally the pump manufacturers recommend NPSH for pumps as 0.5 m. They have Isolation valves helps to carry out maintenance without disturbing vacuum inside the chiller. REMOTE MONITORING Thermax chillers are compatible with MODBUS protocol to transfer all the data available on the control panel display. The system can be made compatible with LONWORKS, PROFIBUS, SCADA or local BMS networks. Inherent Features ELIMINATORS IN EVAPORATOR - Thermax uses unique design of eliminators / baffles which has low pressure drop on account of better spacing between tube bank & eliminator. This ensures a smooth path for the vapour (without any water Carry over) from evaporator to absorber. AUTO-PURGE SYSTEM Thermax chillers are designed with robust system to collect all the non-condensable gases generated in the process. Offer OPTIONAL Automatic Purge to Drain System. CONDENSER WATER INLET TEMPERATURE Thermax chillers can run at much lower condensing water inlet temperatures (as low as 15 C). This is possible on account of its innovative crystallization control logic. NOZZLE SPRAYING IN ABSORBER Thermax chillers have gravity feed design spray where the PLC logic completely controls crystallization to ensure proper penetration at all times. 9

Depending on hot water temperature machine will work as single or double or single-double effect. Single effect machines give a COP of 0.73 (75C+) Double effect Machines give COP of 1.44 (170C+) Triple effect Machine on trial in Deli using Solar COP (When released on the market in 6-8 months will be the most efficient Vapor Absorption Machine in the world) 12
