2 S.N SPECIFIC CONDITION COMPLIANCE STATUS i. Environmental clearance is subject to obtaining clearance under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 from the competent authority, as may be applicable to this project. ii. The beneficiated ore shall be transported through road on trucks covered with tarpaulin. iii. Effective safeguard measures such as conditioning of ore with water, regular water sprinkling shall be carried out in critical areas prone to air pollution and having high levels of particulate matter such as around crushing and screening plant, loading and unloading point and transfer points. It should be ensured that the Ambient Air Quality parameters conform to the norms prescribed by the Central Pollution Control Board in this regard. iv. The project authority shall implement suitable conservation measures to augment ground water resources in the area in consultation with the Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board. v. Regular monitoring of ground water level and quality shall be carried out in and around the mine lease by establishing a network of existing wells and installing new piezometers The project is located within the mining lease area of TRB Iron Ore Mines which has already obtained necessary clearance under Wildlife (Protection) act,1972 from office of the PCCF (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden, Govt. of Odisha vide letter no. 3017/1WL(C) FC-60/08 dated During the operational phase the beneficiated ore will be transported through road on trucks covered with tarpaulin. During the project operation phase effective safe guard measures will be taken. However presently inside the mine we have taken due care to control air pollution in critical areas such as crushing and screening plant, haul road, transfer points and loading and unloading points. Regular water sprinkling is done over haul road by a 28 KL mobile water tanker. Also stationary timer controlled water sprinkling system has been installed along the haul road The jet length of these sprinklers ranges from 20 m to 40 m. Also Dry fog dust suppression system has been installed throughout the crushing and screening circuit. A total of 40 nos of dry fog nozzles have been installed at various locations. All the transfer points have well maintained hood and skirting arrangement to control fugitive dust. Ambient air quality parameter in respect of particulate matter is well within the prescribed norms. Suitable rainwater harvesting scheme will be implemented as per report of NIT, Rourkela in consultation with the Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board. Every month monitoring of ground water level and quality is done in and around the mine lease. The monitoring data for the period from April 2016 to September 2016 Page 1 of 9

3 vi. vii. viii. during the mining operation. The periodic monitoring [(at least four times in a year premonsoon (April-May), monsoon (August), post monsoon (November) and winter (January); once in each season)] shall be carried out in consultation with the State Ground Water Board/Central Ground Water Authority and the data thus collected may be sent regularly to the Ministry of Environment and Forests and its Regional Office Bhubaneswar, the Central Ground Water Authority and the Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board. If at any stage, it is observed that the ground water table is getting depleted due to the mining activity; necessary corrective measures shall be carried out. The project proponent shall ensure that no natural water course and/or water resources shall be obstructed due to any operations. The decanted water from the beneficiation plant and slime/tailing pond shall be recirculated within the mine and there shall be zero discharge from the mine. Regular monitoring of water quality upstream and downstream of adjoining water shall be carried out and record of monitoring data should be maintained and submitted to Ministry of Environment and Forests, its Regional Office, Bhubaneswar, Central Groundwater Authority, Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board, State Pollution Control Board and Central Pollution Control Board. has already been submitted to the Central Ground Water Authority and Regional Director, the Central Ground Water Board vide letter no. JSPL/Mine/ , dated The detailed monitoring data for the period from April 2016 to September 2016 is attached as Annexure I. Also ground water level is monitored in a bore well inside the mining lease area with the help of a piezometer. There is no perennial water course or resource present within the lease area. Also there is provision of hume pipe with bridge where the seasonal nala crosses the haul road. Thus we ensure that no natural water course or resource shall be obstructed due to project operation. It will be complied during the project operational phase. Water quality monitoring is being done once in a month. The locations includes : 1. Upstream of the Samij nallah 2. Downstream of the Samij nallah Records of the monitoring data are duly maintained and submitted half yearly to the Ministry of Environment and Forests, its Regional Office, Bhubaneswar, the Central Groundwater Authority, Regional Director, the Central Ground Water Board, the State Pollution Control Board and the Central Pollution Control Board. The monitoring data for the period from April 2016 to September 2016 is attached as Annexure II. Page 2 of 9

4 ix. The raw material required for the beneficiation plant will be sourced from the captive mine by covered trucks/tippers at a distance of about 800 m and finished product will be dispatched to through the railway siding at a distance of 17 Km. We agree to it. The design of the beneficiation plant will be in such a way that total low grade raw material will be fed from inside the mine. x. Total water requirement for beneficiation plant will be 969m3/day, out of which 964 m3/day will be sourced from surface water i.e. Samij nala and 5 m3/day from the Ground water. The proponent has obtained the ground water withdrawal permission of 854m3/day for allied activity purpose other than mining and beneficiation plant. The Proponent, vide letter dated , has applied to Water Resource Department, Govt. Of Odisha for withdrawal of water from surface water i.e. Samij nala. In this context, the beneficiation plant shall not operate without necessary permissions of extracting the surface water from Samij nala from the Water Resource Department, Govt. Of Odisha and from CGWA for 5 m3/day of Ground water. xi. xii. The filter cake with the tune of 3, 71,100 TPA will be generated and disposed of in the designated areas. It is reported that height of tailing area to be 30 m, capacity of tailing disposal area to be m3 and life of tailing disposal is to be ~20 years. The dumps will be compacted. Waste dumps will be covered initially by geo textiles coir mats and grass seeds will be sown on mats. A retaining wall will be provided at the toe of the dump to arrest the surface run off from the dumps. Trenches will be provided to collect runoff water from the dumps. The detail break up of earmarked land use i.e ha are; 1.90 ha for plant facilities, 0.34 ha for product stock yard, ha for tailing disposal area, ha for approach road, 1.7 ha for green belt, ha for security building, ha for slime pond and ha for administrative building shall be maintained The beneficiation plant will be operational only after getting the necessary water withdrawal permission from the Water Resource Department, Govt. of Odisha and from CGWA. The water permission has been applied vide letter no. JSPL/Mine/ , dated and is under active consideration by Department of Water resources, Govt. of Odisha During the operational phase all necessary safeguard measures will be taken for proper disposal and management of tailings. The land use pattern will be maintained as mentioned in the EIA/EMP report during operational phase. Page 3 of 9
