20 Awards & Achievements Continues to be the best energy efficient PSU refinery Runner up trophy in Furnace/Boiler efficiency category of Oil & Gas conservation award from MOP&NG Best Exporter Award by FKCCI on for highest volume of export through New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) during Credit Rating Agency, ICRA reaffirms Issuer rating of Ir AAA and A1+ to MRPL for lowest Credit Risk and for highest Credit Quality respectively. NABL accreditation to MRPL QC Lab MRPL achieved 394 days of operation without Reportable Lost-Time Injuries as of 01/08/08 20

21 Environmental Management Novel Initiatives: Biogas plant for treating the food and vegetable waste generated in the township and canteen commissioned. Solar street lights are provided at various locations in the township and WWTP and Solar water heater are provided in township quarters. Electric cars provided for internal use in the refinery. Compact Fluorescent lamps are provided for lighting purposes. 21

22 Phase-3 Upgradation & Expansion Project Status Environmental Clearance obtained from MoEF Land acquisition is almost complete Site grading activity started Licensor selection for process unit completed and Basic Engineering & Design in progress 22

23 Ongoing Projects Revamp of Units GOHDS: study by M/s Axens in progress. 30% capacity increase & 40 ppm sulfur in product targeted. Reactor ordered CDU-1: 30% increase in capacity. M/s EIL study in progress. Schedule A package received. PMC for both revamp projects ordered on M/s UHDE India. 23

24 Other Initiatives Research & Development R&D center being set up Research under going in Bio Diesel with feedstock adaptable to the local environment such as Fish oil, Rubber seed oil etc. ERP implementation in progress 24

25 Corporate Social Responsibility MRPL CSR initiative Samrakshan, focusing on basic education, health, sanitation, and cultural promotion. Some of the activities: Donation of Pediatric Endoscope to Regional Advanced Pediatric Care Center, Mangalore costing Rs. 76 lacs Providing basic sanitation facility to nearby village Installation of drinking water system in nearby village Adoption of SC/ST colony Construction of School buildings, donation of furniture, computers etc Contribution to Rangamandira promoted by District Admin. Expenditure in FY 07-08, Rs 2.54 crore Allocation for Rs 7.74 crore 25
