4 Global Track Record

5 Services Overview Early Stage Wind Services & Advice Using the experience of Wind Prospect, in developing, designing, constructing and operating worldwide wind farms can substantially benefit projects, avoiding or minimising costs associated with project risks materialising later on in the project life cycle. - Input into site prospecting, - Constraints mapping, - Early stage site design advice Assess Site Feasibility Wind Prospect can highlight key technical risks from a wind and siting perspective, whilst providing high level estimates of the potential yield, minimise costs and maximise efficiencies moving the project forward. - Layout review based on site constraints (local, national and international designations) - Estimate of potential wind speed and/or energy and early indication of possible site class, using local site or meso-scale data Strategy for Monitoring Optimisation Understanding indicative cost and relative benefit (P90/P50 spread) on project uncertainty can guide decision making. Optimisation of the measurement campaign not only improves the confidence in an energy yield assessment (EYA), but contributes to achieving the best return on investment associated with the wind monitoring campaign. - Monitoring recommendations including masts and remote sensing (incl. design of monitoring campaign) - Recommendations to ensure compliance with international data monitoring standards (IEC & IEA) and industry best practice - A cost benefit analysis based on multiple monitoring scenarios, with detail on impact on project financing Data Monitoring Wind Prospect, through its subsidiary WISE, offers a service dedicated to ensuring that clients have the most reliable, consistent and highest quality data possible from their monitoring installations. This allows for notification of potential maintenance required in order to prevent high data losses due to issues or faults, maximising data recovery for all measured parameters. - Continually updated, consolidated and verified data files, with continuous equipment fault identification - Monthly quality checking and reporting - Instant access to data and documentation (installation reports, maintenance logs and reports) via web interface Early Stage Noise Assessments An assessment of the noise impact of a wind farm development is vital if inhabited properties are found in close proximity, Wind Prospect can present early stage mitigations to minimise the impact and suggest WTG model or site design improvements. - Prediction of the emitted noise levels compared to stipulated/assumed limits, in line with ETSU and IoA guidelines - Calculation of relative yield loss and provision of strategies to minimise potential yield impact

6 Services Overview Site Visits Wind Prospect can perform site visits throughout the development period to help avoid potential issues relating to the measurement and analysis of the site wind resource. - Supervision of the installation/deployment of monitoring equipment (masts and/or SoDAR/LiDAR) - Inspection of monitoring equipment on site - Assessment and measurement of local site constraints that may impact upon future energy yield analyses Site Conditions Assessments Wind Prospect provides these assessments to give confidence in the suitability of the WTG model selected and possibly affect the terms of turbine supply agreement. These are highly recommended for sites where site conditions are close to the limit of the IEC class. - Assessment of the extreme site wind speeds, turbulence levels, wind shear and inflow angles, relevant to any edition of the IEC or DIBt standards - Reporting of further site environmental characteristics, such as extreme temperatures, corrosion and lightning risk Shadow Flicker Assessments An assessment of the shadow flicker resulting from a wind farm development is vital if inhabited properties are found in close proximity, Wind Prospect can present early stage mitigations to minimise the impact. - Predictions of the astronomic worst case scenario of the likely shadow flicker impact at key receptors - Quantification of the relative yield loss and provision of strategies to minimise potential yield impact Preliminary Yield Assessment An early stage yield assessment can be used to guide site selection and to help refine the preliminary layout design. Optimisation of the wind farm layout can also be performed to maximise the energy yield and potentially reduce costs of future operations and maintenance. Without incurring the cost of a full EYA for each new scenario, a client can have the ability to optimise, re-design, change WTG type or hub height, and compare yields either in-house or through Wind Prospect. - Production or optimisation of the wind farm layout design based on site wind data, known constraints, WTG models - Yield values based upon site wind data and indicative assessments of the uncertainties in a final energy yield assessment - Production of customisable summary energy yield matrices with number, model and height of potential site WTGs - Wind flow model creation in industry-standard software, can be supplied or modified in-house for the Client Wind Energy Yield Assessments To support commercial transactions and/or financing, this analysis is the best prediction, based on available data, of the P50 energy yield prediction and of related uncertainties. - Correlation of site data with long-term datasets to calculate the long term site wind resource - Utilising a range of industry standard software to tackle various site environments; CFD in complex terrain, displacement height modelling in Forestry - A fully bankable energy yield assessment, giving overall energy yield figures, with loss and uncertainty analysis

7 Services Overview Solar Energy Yield Assessments In addition to wind, our resource team can also offer solar resource assessment. To fully understand and maximise potential energy yields from a solar project, the Energy Resource Services team provide a variety of services including: - Energy yield analysis including uncertainty assessment in order to support project financing; - Solar resource modelling of both on-site and satellite data; - Design and layout optimisation of project layouts in order to increase project value. Operational Yield Assessments Quantifying observed production, performance and key causes for deviation from predictions can support strategic asset management decisions. Results are often used to support commercial transactions (e.g. project sale/acquisition). Wind Prospect provides operational management and support services for more than 76 wind farms (over 900MW) worldwide. - High level analysis based on monthly yield reports that evaluates the relative windiness of the operational period and downtime to give a preliminary yield prediction - Detailed analysis of the SCADA data from operating WTGs, with analysis of the power curve performance, wind farm availability and on-site losses, resulting in a detailed assessment of future performance - Suggestions for actions to improve or mitigation against underperformance. Due Diligence Performing a due diligence of a yield analysis, or site conditions assessment, allows identification of major flaws in the results, which could affect financing terms at a later stage. - Red flag report to rank any issues with the provided report data, methodology or final results - High-level reassessment of the key losses and uncertainties to provide input into financing decisions
