1 Water Supply / Drainage / Vehicle Crossing Service Connection Information Sheet Service details It is important that all of the required details are completed on the Service. Site Plans As well completing the Service, an A3 copy of a detailed site and services plan/s, showing all relevant information, is required for Council to process the application. The plans shall clearly show: Property boundaries Location of existing services Location of proposed connection Location of obstructions Size and type of materials. Declaration This declaration must be signed by the applicant, and they must indicate whether they are the owner of the property, or acting on behalf of the owner. Neighbour s permission If these works require access onto a neighbouring property, then the neighbour s permission must be obtained in writing and submitted with this application. Swimming pools It is a Tauranga City Council requirement that all properties that have a swimming pool, shall have a Double Check Valve installed immediately after the water meter at the boundary. The Double Check Valve will protect the public water supply from any potential contamination. The Health (Drinking Water) Amendment Act 2007 authorises Council to enforce backflow prevention at the boundary, whether this is new or historic. Building a swimming pool requires a Service to be completed. Fees All fees will be invoiced either separately, or as part of a consent application. Please see Tauranga City Council s website for application fees and charges. Asset Protection Bond (refundable) The Asset Protection Bond will be available for refund once the Service Connection As-built information has been received and an inspection is completed. A Tauranga City Council Development Monitoring Advisor will visit the site in order to establish that the as-builts are correct and that Council s infrastructure remains undamaged. sca@tauranga.govt.nz

5 Vehicle Crossing If you tick yes to any of the vehicle crossing requirements below then: 1. Please complete all of the information required in each section of this page for a Vehicle Crossing Services Connection Application. 2. A Site plan must be provided with this application (*see further information on requirements below). 3. Tick the Services applied for box(s) on the front page of this application and ensure that all relevant information is completed. Construct a new vehicle crossing where the vehicle crossing does not comply with the Tauranga City Council s Infrastructure Development Code (IDC). See information below for compliance requirements. Width Length Vehicle Crossing Compliance Information The vehicle crossing shall be no wider than 4.5m at the kerb (see IDC drawing T431 attached). Distances from the edge of the vehicle crossing and any Council assets shall be as follows: 2m from the trunk of a juvenile street tree. The distance from all other street trees is to be assessed and approved by the Tauranga City Council Arborist, or his/her representative. 0.3m from the edge of a stormwater catchpit apron. 0.5m from a lamp post or street sign. 3m from the edge of a demarcated bus stop. If during the course of construction, it is necessary for Council assets to be relocated, then the required work will be carried out at the owner s expense. Vehicle Crossing Plan Information * An A3 Site plan must accompany the Vehicle Crossing Services Connection application; which shows the location; width and length of the vehicle crossing, as well as plan dimensions, grades and adjacent Council assets shown in the vehicle crossing compliance information above. The drawing must also demonstrate compliance with dimensions and grades as shown on attached drawings T431 and T432. If the applicant wishes to exceed any of the specified dimensions and grades please complete this Vehicle Crossing form. Note: Existing manholes, hydrants and valve boxes may be located in new crossings, but must be re-levelled so as to be flush with the new surface. In the case of a fire hydrant, the clearance between the top of the spindle and the underside of the cover must be maintained between 100mm minimum, and 250mm maximum. This work MUST be carried out by one of Council s Licensed Contractors.
