6 U.S.-Africa Clean Energy Development and Finance Center Providing a coordinated, wholeof-government approach within the U.S. government to clean energy project development in sub-saharan Africa Network of public, private and NGOs to catalyze private investment for clean energy projects Implement clean energy projects while promoting U.S. private sector participation in sub-saharan Africa s economic development Africa Clean Energy Finance Initiative ($20 million initially)

7 U.S.-Africa Clean Energy Finance Initiative (US-ACEF): US-ACEF will fund project development activities in the clean energy sector that are eligible for OPIC financing/insurance. It is designed to catalyze private sector clean energy deals in sub-saharan Africa by aligning USTDA s project planning expertise and OPIC s financing and risk mitigation tools.
