2 GRIDTECH-2019 GRIDTECH is an international Exhibition and Conference which provides a platform to manufacturers/suppliers/academicians/consultants to showcase their state-of-the-art technologies and products in the field of Transmission, Distribution, Smart Grid, Renewable Integration, Energy Storage, Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure, Communication etc. This international event along with concurrent conference provides a unique opportunity to the power utilities, planners, policy makers, regulators, manufacturers, research institutions, academicians, consultants, investors etc. to get exposure to the emerging technologies in the above fields for various applications. NEED FOR NEW TECHNOLOGIES Indian power sector is heading towards achieving electrification of 100% households and 24*7 Power for All. In this endeavor, availability of uninterrupted quality power supply at affordable price, while meeting the environmental norms is a continuous challenge. Government has targeted capacity addition of 175 GW by 2022, which include 100 GW from Solar, 60 GW from wind and balance from other resources. Increasing penetration of highly intermittent & variable renewable energy sources as well as decentralized distributed generation (DDG) present various challenges for planners and system operators. Considering the gigantic renewable capacity addition plans leading to increased intermittency and volatility as well as growing demand of the fastest economy, robust power infrastructure is required to be developed. This infrastructure would include exhaustive high capacity as well as flexible transmission and distribution systems along with sophisticated sensing, communicating, monitoring & control system and energy storage facilities. Further, integration of electric mobility across the country driven by environmental concerns is to be expedited. 1

3 Towards this, latest technological development in the field of transmission, distribution, renewable integration, smart grid, energy storage, intelligent devices, information and communication technology, etc. can play a vital role. Although new technologies in the form of WAMs, FACTs, VSC based converters, High Temperature Super Conductor Line, Fault Current Limiter, Asset Management Techniques, Dynamic Reactive Compensation, Flexible resources including Energy Storage, Advanced Metering Infrastructure, Outage Management System, Demand Side Management/Demand Response, E-Mobility and other Smart Grid functionalities etc. are being progressively adopted throughout the power supply value chain, further innovations need to be continuously explored in this direction to bring further cost and operational efficiencies in the system. GRIDTECH-2019 : 6 th International Exhibition and Conference With the above perspective, POWERGRID in association with CBIP and IEEMA is coming up with the 6 th edition of its much acclaimed and sought after International Exhibition and Conference, GRIDTECH. GRIDTECH-2019 is being organized during April 3-5, 2019 at ITPO, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on new technologies in the domains of Transmission, Distribution, Renewable Integration, Smart Grid, Communication etc. To encourage entrepreneurship, the Exhibition has separate designated areas for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Start-ups and Student s Innovation Pavilions. Parallel to the Exhibition, two concurrent conferences, including CIGRE conference, of 2-days each (3 rd & 4 th April, 2019) have also been planned, which shall be focusing on the state-of-the-art technologies and emerging trends in the related fields. 2

4 EXHIBITION Date : April 3-5, 2019 Venue : Hall No. 8, 9, 10 & 11 at India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), Pragati Maidan, New Delhi Space Booking : Stalls can be booked in Hall No. 9, 10 and 11 including the area reserved for MSME and Start-up Pavilions. Stalls in Student s Innovation Pavilion shall not be available for booking, instead would be allotted separately. For booking in MSME pavilion following would be eligibility criteria: should be registered in India as per Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006 (documents need to be uploaded during stall booking) should be manufacturing or providing services in any of the field of Power Transmission, Distribution, Renewable Integration, Smart Grid and Communication For booking in Start-up pavilion following would be eligibility criteria: should be incorporated or registered in India and recognized by Govt. of India as Start-up (documents need to be uploaded during stall booking) should be manufacturing or providing services in any of the field of Power Transmission, Distribution, Renewable Integration, Smart Grid and Communication Minimum area of the stall will be 12 sqm. Stalls upto 20 sqm area will be of readymade (shell) type. Stalls with area more than 20 sqm can be bare or readymade type. For built-up readymade booth, following shall be provided: Fascia, carpet, two tables, four chairs, one power plug, one dustbin and three lights for each unit of 12 sq.m. Extra furniture can be hired for which payment is to be made directly to the authorized agencies (halogen lights not permitted). 3

8 Student s Innovation Pavilion Student's Innovation Pavilion has been organized to demonstrate working model in the field of Transmission, Distribution, Smart Grid, Renewable Energy Integration, Energy Storage, Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure and Communication. Students from technical institutes can participate in the pavilion and showcase their working model. Best working model adjudged by an eminent jury and shall be awarded cash prize. Details of cash prizes are; 1 st prize -Rs. 3 lakh, 2 nd prize -Rs. 2 lakh, 3 rd prize Rs. 1 lakh and 20 consolation prizes each of Rs.20,000.
