Brash, Air Labs Environmental for Thiess Services Sampling time period: 28 August 2013 (12:11-14:19) Sampling Position: Two 110mm flanges in a circular stack POINT 1 Pollutant Sampling Method Used EPL Condition L3 Concentration Limits Sample Concentration Unit Comments Carbon monoxide Dry gas density OM mg/m 3 71 mg/m 3 Within EPL limit TM-23 Not specified kg/m 3 Moisture TM-22 Not specified 7.41 % Molecular weight of stack gases TM-23 Not specified g/grammole Nitrogen Oxides TM mg/m mg/m 3 Within EPL limit Oxygen (O2) TM-25 Not specified 9.02 % Solid Particles TM mg/m mg/m 3 Within EPL limit Temperature TM-2 Not specified 454 C Velocity TM-2 Not specified 24.6 m/s Volatile organic compounds OM-2 40 mg/m 3 <0.4 mg/m 3 Within EPL limit Volumetric TM-2 Not Specified 290 m 3 /s flowrate This monitoring was undertaken in accordance with the sampling methods listed in the table above and any methodology required by or under the POEO Act (NSW) and/or the Protection of the Environment Operations (Clean Air) Regulation 2002

5 5 NOISE MONITORING Table 2: Noise Monitoring Data, Limit Condition L6 EPL held by Thiess Services for Royal North Shore Hospital - Acute Services Building, Reserve Road, St Leonards, NSW 2065 Preliminary monitoring conducted in October 2012 Monitoring conducted by: Acoustic Logic Monitoring time: 7pm-8pm Monitoring Equipment: Norsonics Type 1 Sound Analyser set on A-weighted fast response mode Receiver Location Herbert Street, at residential properties closest to the Cogeneration Plant Period October 2012 Measured Levels db(a) Ambient Noise level Calculated contribution of the Cogeneration and Diesel Plant operation Noise Limit 50dB(A)L 90 40dB(A)L eq(15min) 43LA eq Comments Noise measurements for the calculated contribution were taken at a closer location where the Cogeneration Plant was audible. The audible noise was free from tonal, impulsive, low frequency or any other noise qualities (as defined by the EPA Industrial Noise Policy) which would attract a penalty to the noise level. Note: Cogen plant has not been operational due to an insufficient energy load requirement for the Acute Services Building. Noise limit monitoring will recommence at such time as the cogen plant becomes operational.
