8 How to Select a Nominal Size A trainer can work mot effectively and completely fulfill working condition if the following are taken into account: Selecting a nominal ize Select a trainer of the ame nominal ize a that of the piping to which it will be connected (nominal ize of piping = nominal ize of trainer). Pleae remember that uing a trainer of a maller nominal ize increae the preure lo of the trainer and may diable it from keeping pecified preure at the inlet of a device. In general, the tandard flow velocity of a fluid i et according to the application and baed on the type and propertie of the fluid and the piping nominal ize When water or a fluid cloe to water in vicoity and pecific gravity i ued: Find the interection point of the flow rate V /min and the preure lo P MPa (uually 0.02 MPa to 0.03 MPa) on the preure lo chart for the trainer. The nominal ize line above the interection point repreent the required nominal ize. When the fluid to be ued i different from water in vicoity and pecific gravity: Take any of each nominal ize from preure lo chart (for water) in each product, and calculate the preure lo at that point uing the expreion hown below. Draw a line of the ame gradient a water' nominal ize line. Then, find the required nominal ize a decribed in 1. When the filter element and the filter creen are different: Preure lo eldom change even if our perforated heet and filter creen are replaced. However, fine one and coare one are different in the tate and progreion of clogging. Set a higher afety factor for a finer one. How to calculate the preure lo of a trainer: Find the interection point of the nominal ize line and the flow rate on the chart. The P value at the interection point i the preure lo of the trainer. 9 Guideline for the Intallation of a Ue a trainer under a maximum preure lo of 0.1 MPa or le. Whether a trainer i clogged can be checked by intalling a preure gauge before and after it. When intalling a trainer, prepare pace for removing the creen from it. Do not apply back preure from the outlet of a trainer becaue the filter creen may eparate from the perforated heet. Guideline for Y type trainer Intall the Y type trainer with the cap down. Remove the drain plug, and attach a blow valve. The dirt accumulating in the lower portion of the trainer can be dicharged (ee Fig.1). 10 Guideline for the Intallation of a Duplex trainer Switch the cock according to the operation procedure decribed below (the cock will get damaged if witching i carried out without pulling up the cock). Operation procedure 1: Slide the handle' head with the hexagonal hole over the adjuting crew, and give the crew one or two clockwie turn (the cock rie). 2: Slide the handle' head with the pentagonal hole over the cock (with the topper down), witch the cock to the right or left. 3: Align the arrow marked on each of the cock and the handle with the end mark of the arrow on the creen. 4: After the cock i witched, turn the adjuting crew counterclockwie, the oppoite direction of the operation in (1). If the cock and the adjuting crew imultaneouly turn, hold either of them with a wrench, etc. The adjuting crew mut be tightened with the attached handle. 5: After witching, clean the trainer oppoite to the direction of flow.
