1 Page 1 of 7 MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET Propylene Glycol USP/EP Section 01 - Product And Company Information Product Identifier... Propylene Glycol USP/EP Product Use... Used as a non-toxic anti-freeze in breweries and daries, a solvent for pharmaceuticals, a substitute for ethylene glycol and glycerol Supplier Name... ClearTech Industries Inc Quebec Avenue Saskatoon, SK. Canada S7K 1V7 Prepared By ClearTech Industries Inc. Technical Department Phone: Hour Emergency Phone Section 02 - Composition / Information on Ingredients Ingredients Propylene Glycol > 99.8% CAS Number Propylene Glycol Synonym (s) Dowfrost, 1,2-dihydroxypropane, methylethylene glycol, 1,2-propanediol, 1,2-propylene glycol Section 03 - Hazard Identification Inhalation At room temperature, exposures to vapors are minimal due to physical properties; higher temperatures may generate vapor levels sufficient to cause irritation. Skin Contact / Absorption.... Direct contact with skin may cause transient redness, if not washed off and is left on the skin for an extended period of time. This irritant effect would not be expected to result in permanent damage. Eye Contact May cause slight transient (temporary) eye irritation. Vapours or mists may cause eye irritation.

2 Page 2 of 7 Ingestion..... Single dose oral toxicity is low. No adverse health effects are expected from swallowing. Exposure Limits... TWA: 10mg/m 3 Section 04 - First Aid Measures Inhalation Remove victim to fresh air. Give artificial respiration only if breathing has stopped. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek medical attention if difficulties persist. Skin Contact / Absorption... Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area with soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation occurs or persists. Eye Contact Check for and remove any contact lenses. Flush immediately with water for at least 20 minutes. Forcibly hold eyelids apart to ensure complete irrigation of eye tissue. Seek immediate medical attention. Ingestion..... No emergency medical treatment necessary. However, do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs, lean victim forward to prevent breathing in. Give large amounts of water. Seek medical attention. Additional Information Treatment based on sound judgment of physician and individual reactions of patient. Section 05 - Fire Fighting Measures Conditions of Flammability... Product is flammable. Means of Extinction Use dry chemicals, CO2, alcohol resistant foam or water spray. Alcohol resistant foams are preferred if available. Flash Point o C Auto-ignition Temperature o C Upper Flammable Limit % Lower Flammable Limit % Hazardous Combustible Products... Combustion of this material will produce carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and aldehydes.

3 Page 3 of 7 Special Fire Fighting Procedures... Wear NIOSH-approved self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing. Violent steam generation or eruption may occur upon application of direct water stream to hot liquids. Spills of these organic liquids on hot fibrous insulations may lead to lowering of the autoignition temperatures possibly resulting in spontaneous combustion. Do not use water except as a fog. Isolate and restrict area access. Explosion Hazards... Product can be ignited and will burn. Product may produce hazardous fumes or hazardous decomposition products. Heated containers may rupture violently from excessive heat. Section 06 - Accidental Release Measures Leak / Spill Wear appropriate personal protective equipment if required. Ventilate area. Stop or reduce leak if safe to do so. Prevent material from entering sewers. Absorb with an inert dry material and place in an appropriate waste disposal container. Avoid direct contact with material. Deactivating Materials Not available Section 07 - Handling and Storage Handling Procedures Use proper equipment for lifting and transporting all containers. Use sensible industrial hygiene and housekeeping practices. Wash thoroughly after handling. Avoid all situations that could lead to harmful exposure. Storage Requirements Keep containers tightly closed, store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place and away from incompatible materials. Avoid storing in moist conditions as product is hygroscopic. Keep away from direct sunlight or UV light at temperatures below 40 o C. Ideal storage container material is stainless steel. Aluminum, HDPE and Plasite 3066 lined containers are also suitable storage materials. Product should be used within 24 months. Protective Equipment Section 08 - Personal Protection and Exposure Controls Eyes..... Chemical goggles, full-face shield, or a full-face respirator is to be worn at all times when product is handled. Contact lenses should not be worn; they may contribute to severe eye injury. Respiratory... Respiration protection is not normally required. If use creates vapours, mists or aerosols, then a NIOSH-approved respirator with an approved organic vapor cartridge is recommended.

4 Page 4 of 7 Gloves... Clothing..... Impervious gloves of chemically resistant material should be worn at all times. Wash contaminated clothing and dry thoroughly before reuse. Body suits, aprons, and/or coveralls of chemical resistant material should be worn. Wash contaminated clothing and dry thoroughly before reuse. Footwear... No special footwear is required other than what is mandated at place of work. Engineering Controls Ventilation Requirements... Mechanical ventilation (dilution or local exhaust), process or personnel enclosure and control of process conditions should be provided. Supply sufficient replacement air to make up for air removed by exhaust systems. Other... Emergency shower and eyewash should be in close proximity. Section 09 - Physical and Chemical Properties Physical State Liquid Odor and Appearance.....
