Turbine Oils Marine Engine Oils Our Q8 Van Gogh and Q8 Volta products are designed for use in gas, steam and hydro-turbines. These oils have outstanding oxidation stability to ensure reliable operation, together with good water separation and low foaming properties. Also available in EP-variants (Extreme Pressure) and combined with gearbox lubricants, they can as well provide protection against wear. 7 Q8 Mahler GR5 Solution Case Study Q8 Mahler GR5 is a high performance gas engine oil based on Group III base oil. This oil was specially developed with outstanding oxidation stability and the ability to control piston/ liner cleanliness at increased piston ring temperatures. A 10,000-hour trial was carried out at Vinderup VARMEVÆRK Denmark. With Q8 Mahler GR5 the customer achieved more than 4,000 additional hours oil life with no filter changes during this period. The engine's condition after 10,000 hours was excellent. In the same engine, with equivalent gas quality and operating conditions, the customer achieved 1,500 hours oil life with filter changes every 500 hours using an OEM approved competitor A-brand. The TBN retention results are shown in the graph. 8 Metalworking Metalworking fluids are very complex in terms of their chemistry and the environment in which they perform. Wire & Tube Drawing Cold Rolling The process of drawing wire for electrical wiring, cables, springs, paper clips and more through several dies requires specially developed lubricants. Q8Oils Germ-Allcard is a range of soluble and neat lubricants for non-ferrous rod, wire and tube rolling and drawing applications. Reducing the thickness of metal strips and obtaining a high quality surface finish is a very demanding challenge for cold rolling oils. Q8Oils has developed a range of cold rolling oils, Q8 Bach R, for manufacturing ferrous and non-ferrous metals. These lubricants are suitable for all types of mills and approved by leading rolling mill manufacturers. Metalworking - Removal Anti Corrosion Removing material by using various kinds of tooling, to result in a high quality finished component with respect to human and environmental exposures, requires balanced and technologically enhanced cutting fluids. Corrosion of metals is a widely spread occurrence that will or can result into several issues when not prevented. The range of Q8Oils anti corrosion products will prevent rust formation and corrosion on work pieces, machine parts and tools. Quenching Metalworking - Forming The way that metals are cooled after a heat treatment process defines the typical metal microstructure properties.
