3 The Story Unsuccessful Waste Treatment Policies in EU. Financial problems for the European Municipalities due to fines by the Commission. The Organic part of waste mixed with the rest of the solid waste produces hazardous liquids for both environment and public health. Waste production is steadily increasing we produce more rubbish per year.

Educate the public about the benefits of the organic waste (campaigns, forums and workshops). 2. Separate organic waste by the solid waste at the source. 3. Develop the organic waste to compost as a fertilizer. 4. Establish a network for compost traders including waste producers and consumers.

7 What we want to accomplish Potential of recovering up to 50% of the solid waste in the next 10 years. Eco Friendly solution, as composting is natural process. Plus less hazards for the public health. Benefit to the local economies and the agricultural population through the trade of cheap fertilizer. A clean environment.

8 The Challenge The Values Convince the public and business to contribute on the plan. Keep bureaucracy away no political interest to be involved. Establish link between waste producers and consumers. Annihilation of illegal dumps across the EU. The Awareness of the Public. Everyone is welcome to contribute and will be re awarded. Organic Waste is Recoverable and can be developed. Re-development of the value of the waste.

10 Products: Neighbourhood Composter Neighbourhood Composters will develop the organic waste by the local communities in to organic fertilizer - compost. The entire process of composting can be achieved automatically by the earth worms. Its production cost is low (recycled materials to be used). No pollution- No smells and aesthatically positive.

11 Neighbourhood composters Places Map Composters have been placed in green spots, in the city of Kalamata, Greece. Example A composter of a square meter can meet the waste production of several houses and companies.

12 Products: Home Composter Our Ex-change platform can be involved to the promotion & trade of home composters, whereas the use of neighbourhood composter is not possible. The Compost Process can be run in enclosed spaces (such as houses), with the above models;

Networking with business partners. Workshops in Schools. Research on organic waste production by the local business. Continue to educate citizens through workshops/tutorials /forums. Creation of the organic waste exchange online platform. Organise a campaign plan, seminars and briefing conferences across the Country. Expansion of the model in other European Municipalities.

19 Success Reasons Team Timing (E.U. Polices) The first feedbacks were positive. When we tried the first composters in Kalamata, Greece, the amount of quality fertiliser produced by the organic waste was large. The Public has been feed up by the environmental risks due the waste treatment policies so far. Market meets Enviroment Operational planning The Model of Social Change.
