23 Energy Management The hospitality industry spends over $7.5 billion on energy each year. On average, America s 47,000 hotels spend $2,196 per available room each year on energy. This represents about 6% of all operating costs. A 10 percent reduction in energy costs is equivalent to increasing RevPAR by $0.60 for limited service hotels and by more than $2.00 for full-service hotels. Electricity demand in the U.S. will grow at least 40% by
