By combining air, water, flora and land to function in harmony with urban development, water and air can be filtered, cleaned and purified. The result is revolutionary Green Cities which function like natural ecosystems. Today s cities consist mostly of impervious surfaces producing high amounts of contaminated water and heat which contribute to the degradation of our waterways, oceans and depletion of the ozone layer. Water and air are needed in all aspects of life and their sustainability has to be ensured for future generations. Looking towards nature has given Atlantis solutions to these problems that affect us all. Green Cities Increased vegetation within cities reduces heat and air contamination. Roof Garden Drainage Planter Box Drainage Permeable Driveways and Access Roads Podium Landscaping Drainage Basements Vertical & Horizontal Drainage Underground rainwater harvesting tank Water Sensitive Urban Design The use of permeable surfaces allows rainfall to infiltrate where it falls. Rainwater can be then collected for harvesting or allowed to recharge ground water.

12 Stormwater Management Underground Modular Water Tanks for underground Infiltration, Detention, Rainwater Harvesting & Channel applications... Benefits Quick Installation - Reduce site access delays. Lightweight - No cranes or lifting equipment required. Strong Structural Design - Suitable for design loads up to 10 t/m 2 Modular - Easily create any shape and size to suit site requirements. Maintenance Free Tank - All debris and sediment is removed by pre-filtration. Total Stormwater Management Atlantis Modular tank systems use surface and underground infiltration techniques, resulting in clean water that can be re-used or allowed to re-enter the natural water system. Atlantis modular tank systems offer a highly efficient option for stormwater management in any kind of soil. Water Quality Atlantis modular tank systems excel when there is a requirement to achieve high water quality, particularly in the effective removal of nutrients and gross pollutants. In addition to the obvious environmental benefits, the sub -surface location of the tank system provides more useable ground area and enhanced aesthetic setting compared to above ground concrete or plastic tanks. The Modular Advantage Atlantis Modular Tank System performance supersedes outdated aggregate trenches. The Atlantis system provides a void space of over 90% compared to less than 20% in typical aggregate trenches. Consequently, with a smaller footprint the Atlantis system achieves the same storage capacity as an aggregate trench. This saves time and money in installation and civil works costs. The lightweight design of Atlantis modular tank modules also make installation quicker, safer and cheaper. No sediment build up occurs in the Atlantis system, unlike the clogging that is characteristic of aggregate based approaches. Determinate Volume - One cubic metre of Matrix Tank Modules contain 950 litres of water. Cost Effective - Reduces excavation and disposal by two thirds compared with conventional soak wells. - Cost effective compared to concrete and other systems Create Any or Shape! High Infiltration - 90% void surface area Easily Transportable - Can be supplied unassembled for delivery to remote areas. 12

13 Infiltration Tank The infiltration tank system is the ideal way to manage stormwater runoff in permeable or semi-permeable soil conditions. How It Works! The system is designed to capture surface water through infiltration, and then clean and filter the water before it is allowed to recharge the water table providing moisture for surrounding vegetation. The Atlantis Filtration Unit also captures and cleans roof water before entry into the storage area (Matrix Tank Modules). Applications: New developments required to meet water sensitive urban design standards. Rainwater Harvesting (Re-use Tank) The Atlantis Re-use System has proven effective in providing a regular clean water supply for domestic and commercial applications. Atlantis Filtration Unit (Large) Atlantis Drainage Cell EcoSoil Biologically Engineered Soil for water sensitive applications or Washed River Sand (no fines) for typical applications. Surface Infiltration Water Percolation Infiltration Tank Matrix Tank Modules Geotextile Rainwater Harvesting Tank Atlantis Drainage Cell Stormwater Management How It Works! The system captures water from both landscaped areas through surface infiltration and from roof areas which are filtered through an Atlantis Filtration Unit. Clean water is retained within the storage area away from harmful U.V. light and heat remaining cool underground readily available for reuse. Atlantis Filtration Unit (small) Matrix Tank Modules Washed River Sand (no fines) Pump Applications: Typical applications include flushing toilets, in washing machines, watering gardens and washing cars. Geotextile Overflow to discharge or infiltration system Polypropylene Plastic Liner Detention Tank (Attenuation) The Atlantis Detention System is a cost effective solution that can also address water quality. The system offers flexible design options, saving installation time and delays to site access. How It Works! Water captured from roof and paved areas are filtered through an Atlantis Filtration Unit before entering the storage area (Matrix Tank Modules). Water is then slowly released through the discharge control unit (DCU). Applications: Developments that need to meet Local Council Stormwater requirements. Atlantis Filtration Unit (Large) Geotextile Detention Tank (Attenuation) Note: Atlantis does not endorse detention systems. Detention systems discharge recyclable water into existing stormwater systems where the water is contaminated causing heavy pollution downstream. Washed River Sand (no fines) Surface Infiltration Matrix Tank Modules Discharge Control Pit Plastic liner required in certain areas only Orifice Plate 13

Permanent Underground Waterways The Atlantis channel system provides permanent underground waterways that restores water quality and recharges the natural environment. The underground Atlantis channel system provides a unique way of working with nature to solve the enormous problems currently associated with open concrete channels. Traditional Concrete Channels Open concrete channels are currently one of the main methods of transporting large quantities of stormwater for discharge into creeks, rivers and oceans. Open channels are used widely in the urban landscape even though they are considered unsafe. Channels are also a breeding ground for vermin and vector that endanger human health. In addition to the health and safety problem, large concrete channels take up vast areas of land and have a negative impact on the amenity of the area. Atlantis Underground Channels With the Atlantis channel system being a underground system, these problems with open concrete channels are rectified. The permeable channel system can be designed to follow inherent contours of the landform and emulate the flow of natural waterways. This curvilinear channel design creates vertical flow turbulence and reduces the overall flow velocity while increasing the self cleansing capacity of the channel bed to create healthy aerobic conditions. Environmental Benefits By replacing open concrete channels with Atlantis channel systems, cities can now benefit from increased environmental amenities, greater recreational space and healthier conditions by using the vast tracts of land once given over to rapid flowing concrete channels.
