2 Notes: ACRYLIC PRIMER SPRAYABLE (43APSI AND 43AP) Knots Water based wood primers are essentially self knotting. Once fully dry Primer E43 Silver White Primer is unaffected by resinous knots, whereas oil based primers allow resinous material to bleed through the paint film. Timber which is heavily knotted, or particularly resinous, should be spot primed with E43 over the knots and allowed to dry before overall painting. Shrunken or cracked knots should be filled as necessary prior to painting. Microporosity. E34 E43 Once dry, E43 White Primer has microporous properties, which allows individual water molecules to pass slowly through the primer (but not water droplets), letting moisture vapour permeate out of timber and allowing the wood to breathe. The benefits of microporosity will be lost if any other coating within a paint system is not microporous. E34 AND E43 should not be used on timber with high moisture content prior to painting, and in use will not allow saturated timber to dry out. Under these circumstances premature coating failure may occur. ACRYLIC WHITE WOOD PRIMER INTERIOR/EXTERIOR (43AP) INTENDED USES CONSTRUCTION CHEMICALS HIGH OPACITY MODIFIED ACRYLIC COPOLYMER PRIMER IS A HIGH QUALITY MICRO POROUS, QUICK DRYING PRIMER FOR INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR USE, Water based microporous primer/undercoat for use on wood/mdf/hardboard etc. Supplied ready for use for spraying, automatic brush and vacume timber coaters. Foam resistant with good flow on application. Block resistant on drying and self knotting. Carefully selected blend of pigments ensures denibbing without clogging and ease of sanding by the end user. Excellent opacity in a single coat, fast drying and low odour. May be over coated with emulsion or white-spirit based decorative coatings. Some hard woods may need wiping over with white spirit to remove any resins. STORAGE & HANDLING 43APSI AND 43AP Storage Under cover in the range C. Protect from frost. Pack Size 30kg. Shelf life 12 months in unopened containers when stored under cover in good conditions. Clean up Clean all equipment immediately with clean water. Using spray primer speeds up the priming process, typically a pallet of skirting like this would take 1 man a day to prime, by spaying this time has been reduced to 1 hour. Construction Chemicals spray primer is block resistant this means the primed timber can be quickly stacked without sticking.
