2 Bucks for Business Rebate $100,000 maximum rebate per eligible project $0.50/1,000 gallons saved over ten-year lifetime or 50% of equipment costs, whichever is less Examples of eligible projects: Reuse of high quality rinse water used in the high tech industry Laundry water use reduction (e.g., ozone treatment, water recycling) New equipment and processes that reduce or replace amount of potable water used for cooling towers 2

3 Water Efficiency Audit Rebate 75% of audit cost, up to a maximum of $5,000 Must have annual water use of 100,000 gallons or more Must commit to fixing controllable leaks and adjusting equipment settings to qualify 3

4 Irrigation System Upgrade Rebate Central Computer Irrigation Controller System 50% of equipment cost for each station, up to $50 / station; $5,000 maximum per property Flow Sensors $300 each Converting all nozzles in a station Spray to multi-stream, multi-trajectory nozzles; $4/ nozzle Master Valves $100 each on systems installed before Jan. 1,

6 Auxiliary Water Programs Rainwater Harvesting Rebate Up to $5,000 per site $0.50 (non-pressurized) or $1.00 (pressurized) per gallon Reclaimed Water $1.99/1000 gallons (versus $ $6.57/1000 gal. potable water for commercial customers) 6

7 Rebate Process Summary AWU has a rebate for almost every kind of water saving device and equipment Must be an AWU customer to qualify Must exceed code requirements Rebate goes to AWU customer/account holder Incentive programs application must be submitted before purchase Larger rebate programs require pre- and post installment inspections Rebates are taxable income customer s W-9 is required Invoices must be marked paid Do not leave money on the table AE and Texas Gas rebates Do ROI based on water, wastewater, energy and operational savings 7

8 Cooling Tower Requirements Registration with AW Annual Inspections Forms available Nov. 15 th on website First report due March 1, 2018 New cooling tower of 100 tons or greater combined capacity Connection to CEMS or UMD Blow down water reuse or makeup water offset 8

9 Evaporative Loss Credit Program Reduce monthly wastewater bills for the amount of evaporated water from cooling towers that is not returned to the wastewater system Program managed by Consumer Services Division (TAPS) Application available online

10 Water Efficient Alternatives Air cooled systems for <300 tons Hybrid towers and/or geothermal (ground coil) heat pump units Variable Refrigerant Volume systems Combined heat and power systems using desiccant systems for HVAC dehumidification 10

11 AC Condensate Recovery New commercial and multifamily facilities with a combined cooling capacity of > 200 tons [310.10, local amendment to 2015 UMC] Rebates on retrofit projects to recover and use AC condensate can receive up to $100,000 Bucks for Business Rebate application To be eligible, facilities must have been constructed before September 6,
