During the latest years, Polvax-Ukraine has been developed an effective technology for sewage sludge, waste and biomass recycling with fuel and power generation. The company produces effective equipment based on low-temperature continuous pyrolysis technology. The PYROLYSIS equipment complexes are treating waste in a fully ecological way. Polvax-Ukraine is led by an experienced team of professionals with vast experience in the sector, proven technological and business expertise. The team is customer focused and technology driven in the way it conducts its business.

TWO PROBLEMS, ONE SOLUTION The waste management problem became one of the most important environmental issues after the artificial materials became widely distributed, as the waste remain dumped for tens and hundreds of years poisoning soil, water and air. The proposed equipment is compared to a small oil refining facility; however waste materials are used instead of expensive oil. The equipment allows producing synthoil and synthgas, heat and electric power generation, reusing of industrial waste and The Polvax-Ukraine continuous pyrolysis also eliminating the necessity to use landfills technology of waste recycling contributes to and dumps. not only solving the environmental issues but also to solving the energy deficit problem.

RECYCLING PROCESS Continuous pyrolysis is the thermal recycling technology of municipal waste without pre-sorting or sewage sludge and biomass. The pyrolysis products (synthetic oil, gas and pyrocarbon) are manufactured during the wasteless utilization of the raw materials in closed reactor chambers. During the continuous pyrolysis process materials decay without oxygen access at low temperature. Therefore, the method of continuous pyrolysis waste utilization eliminates the emission of toxic substances to the atmosphere, ensuring operational and environmental safety of the recycling process. Equipment is adjusted in such a manner that pyrolysis process goes continuously 24/7 that ensures high capacity for utilization, less operation cost and technological stability.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES Waste management project PYROLYSIS is aimed at: design, production and installation of complex pyrolysis equipment for different types of waste treatment; development of innovative eco-friendly waste recycling technologies; commercially effective production of biofuel, heat and electric energy; research and production of the effective biochar fertilizer as a pyrolysis product.

Based on the tests results the pyrolysis equipment has demonstrated completely satisfactory results regarding compliance to the EU and the US standards by wide margins. This fact helps reducing risks of the equipment compatibility with the standards in the future given tightening environmental regulations. Based on the sanitaryepidemiological examination dated 12/01/2011 results, the Continuous pyrolysis waste reprocessing equipment met the existing requirements of Ukrainian sanitary regulations.

Continuous pyrolysis technology allows the operator to recycle almost all types of waste, except building materials. Types of waste for recycling: municipal waste, sewage sludge furniture processing waste, rubber products, plastics, biomass and other materials Type of waste Synthoil output Sewage sludge 30% Municipal solid waste (without presorting) 30-60% Car tire casings (and other rubber products) 45-60% Medical waste 30% Wood waste and agricultural waste 30% All types of plastic 40-65% Oil sludge 30% Hard coal, brown coal, peat 15-45%

SEWAGE SLUDGE TREATMENT The amount of sewage sludge is catastrophically increased in the latest few decades due to functioning of the municipal sewage treatment facilities. Dry sewage sludge contains 70-90% of the organic substances and 10-30% of the inorganic substances, which are dangerous for human health in the case of inappropriate utilization. The widespread solution of the dry sludge residue utilization is its use for agricultural purposes, in particular for soil fertilizing. However, the EU countries reject this solution, because sewage sludge contents heavy metals, pollutants and other harmful substances. The continuous pyrolysis technology presents the unique sewage sludge recycling solution. During the pyrolysis process (thermal decay without oxygen access) the sewage sludge is decomposes into gaseous, liquid and solid fractions.

OUTPUT SUBSTANCES Pyrogas gas mixture received during the pyrolysis process. Liquid fuel synthetic hydrocarbon. Pyrocarbon type of coal, black inert powder. Average output of the pyrolysis products from 1 t of the sewage sludge (moisture content 5%): pyrogas 0,427 t (caloric value kcal/h); fuel for boilers 0,15 t (caloric value kcal/h); pyrocarbon 0,423 t (caloric value kcal/h). The quality and the quantity of the products depend on the raw materials.

HEATING VALUE OF THE PYROLYSIS PRODUCTS: Pyrogas kcal/m 3 ; Pyrocarbon kcal/kg; Fuel for boilers kcal/kg. Output of the sewage sludge recycling using the pyrolysis complex with capacity 60 t/hour: 10,25 Gcal/h of the heat power (total heat effect from fuel products combustion); 2010 kw of the electric power (using 1005 m 3 of pyrogas); 14,3 t of the steam per hour (in case of the treatment of all manufactured fuel products).

PYROLYSIS PRODUCTS APPLICATIN Pyrolysis oil is the synthetic hydrocarbon SYNTHETIC OIL and PYROGAS: as a boiler fuel (to warm the water for space heating); for hot water supply service; for electric power production (using turbines and other special equipment). PYROCARBON: coal-water fuel production; waste-water treatment; plastic and plastic dyes manufacture. Pyrolysis products are commercially successful products that reduce essentially the cost recovery period.

COMPLEX EQUIPMENT MODIFICATIONS due to input raw material capability: 1,5 t/hour (36 t/day) 2,5 t/hour (60 t/day) Equipment complexes are designed according to preferable output products request, raw material characteristics and individual production parameters. CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS The electric power and water supply is inquired for proper pyrolysis plant functioning. The electricity power consumption of the pyrolysis plant max. 210 kw/hour, average 60 kw/hour. The inquired staff for proper continuous pyrolysis plant functioning consists of 6 workers (3 day shifts, 2 operators per day). The footprint of the pyrolysis plant is m 2.

ENVIRONMENTAL SECURITY The continuous pyrolysis technology is an innovative solution of Waste Management that may significantly decrease the landfill area. The raw materials decay into the particles without oxygen access inside the closed reactor chambers at low temperature. It is reduces greenhouse emissions into atmosphere (incl. landfills methane). Therefore, the continuous pyrolysis technology of waste utilization minimizes the emission of toxic substances, ensuring operational and environmental safety of the recycling process. The Polvax-Ukraine engineers have developed a filter for biooils and biogases cleaning from CO 2, CH, Carbon monoxide and solids. Thus, the facilities can be located in proximity from residential districts and have no negative environmental effect.

WASTE TO ENERGY PROCESS The additional units of the equipment (turbines and boilers) may provide pyrolysis products recycling into the electric power. During this process the warm steam goes through the turbine, than the heat energy of the warmed gas is transformed into mechanic spinning energy. The turbine shaft is connected to the rotor of turbogenerator and spins it. The rotational energy turns into electric power. The generated electricity supplies electrical circuit.
