SIZE REDUCTION BRIQUETTING PELLETIZING crushmaster Harness the Power of Nature Solutions for the size reduction and processing of Biomass

Brazil annully produces approximately 16 billion liters of ethanol. Annual harvest of about 21 million tons of cereal straw. (Of which 11 million tons of wheat straw) BIOMASS is a renewable and carbon neu Worldwide, biomass currently provides o energy needs. Biomass will become an in energy source rising to 30 percent global Oil palm trees annual production is about 35 million tons per year. With a production of around 45 million tons of coconuts annually, the coconut palm is one of the major crops. 2

Every year over 850 million tons of corn is harvested worldwide. Worldwide, a total of 24.6 million tons Cotton is produced. tral energy source. ver 10 percent of our creasingly important ly by Approximately 54.1 million tons of rapeseed is annually produced. The worldwide use of grain in biofuels is approximately 125 million tons. Wood is one of the most important biomass energy sources. 3

Biomass is a resource of the f In times of rising energy cost, petroleum and Wood pellets are the most common product gas reserves diminishing, and a world focus on the international biomass market. The on environmental impact, alternative energy global production of wood pellets has forms are becoming increasingly important. shown an exponential growth: It makes sense to use energy resources that from 2 million tons of wood pellets in 2001 are ready available, plentiful, renewable and to 4 million tons in 2006, to 9 million in 2008 sustainable. Biomass provides us with one and 16 million in Over the years, the of the most environmentally friendly energy level of professionalism in the sector has sources to meet the worlds growing energy risen, as has the average production needs. capacity and capital investment per wood pellet plant. Additionally, increasing amounts of wood chips, briquettes, and pellets from agricultural residues are used for energy production. Global pellet production is rapidly expanding to meet the worlds increasing energy needs. 70 WORLD ANNUAL WOOD PELLET CONSUMPTION MILLIONS OF TONS CONSUMED YEAR 4

uture For thousands of years man has been burning wood as a form of energy. Wood pellets are the modern form of wood heating which arguably has more potential to cut CO² emissions than any other source of renewable energy currently available. By using a sustainable, carbon neutral source of fuel such as biomass wood pellets in the generation of electricity and heat energy, we can drastically cut our CO² emissions and save money. 5

shmaster Products Processing is the conversion of the input materials into a homogeneous product, which is then used as a fuel for the generation of electricity and heat. Crushmaster produces a full range of equipment for the production of woodchips, briquettes and pellets. Production of wood pellets Crushmaster has innovative size reduction and pelletizing systems for your process. We have a full line of products for complete biomass systems including shredders, granulators, material handling equipment, metal detection and separation, design, installation, start-up and training services. 10 Size reduction SIZE REDUCTION BRIQUETTING PELLETIZING Pre-crushing to a chip size > 10 mm Q and P Serie The single shaft shredder of Q and P series are used in crafts and industries of the wood processing industry to ensure sound treatment of waste wood and many other materials. The machines were developed for strong stresses and reliability in continuous operation. Each machine is custom designed for material throughput and particle size. 2nd-crushing to chip size > 3 mm K, H and S Series For the granulator series different rotor designs are available with working widths of mm. The grinding chamber made in a welded steel construction combined with the V-shaped arrangement rotor blades allow universal use of these machines. The cleverly designed machine is ideal for easy accessibility for maintenance. 10 Additional technical information see Data Sheets

Briquetting and Pelletizing Briquettes with a diameter> 5cm with hydraulic presses U and V Series - Crushmaster briquetting systems process residual wood at a constantly high level of quality and density from the finest wood dust through wood shavings and sawdust up to coarse wood chips. In addition to wood, a variety of residual organic materials such as miscanthus, straw and cotton can be pressed into handy briquettes of various sizes without the need of additional binders, provided the water content is under 15 percent. Production of high density Pellets X Series The wood pellet mill with a single-motor V-belt driving system features ideal transmission, increased drive torque and steady running. Die available in a variety of thickness and hole diameter ranging from 6 MM to 12 MM. Intelligent feeding by an advanced frequency drive-conversion motor, equipped with an overload protection device and magnetic separation. Additional technical information see Data Sheets 11
