2 Contents Energy in Thailand : Facts & Figures Primary Energy Supply 1 Alternative energy consumption of Thailand during -Q 3 /2556 was 6,015. accounting for 10.7% of the total final consumption, using in the form of electricity, heat and biofuels. As for performance on energy efficiency measures, energy intensity during -Q 3 /2556 was /thousand million baht which resulted in reduce energy use by 5.5%, compared to the base year Thai government tries to promote the policy on alternative energy development and energy efficiency improvement, for example, providing the program on power purchase from Solar PV Rooftop by up to 200 MW in 2013, the program on financial support for using of energy saving materials and equipment among SMEs by encouraging them to switch to LED bulbs as well as make changes to their machines and equipment in order to conserve power and etc. These lead to meet the targets of alternative energy development plan and energy efficiency improvement in the year of 2012 and 2030 respectively.
