Purpose and Background Purpose of US 301 : Create a vision for the US 301 corridor from Kossik Road to the US 98 Bypass that guides land use patterns & development characteristics with a supportive transportation system. 3

Purpose and Background US 301 Conditions: Rural Character Scenic Vistas/Topography Existing Development Form 4

Purpose and Background US 301 sets a guide for decision making and promotes desired growth by: Responding to community preferences. Defining the character of development. Enhancing connectivity for all transportation modes. Maximizing existing infrastructure. Enhancing corridor safety. Preserving natural features. 5

Purpose and Background Perfect Time to Discuss Land Use/Transportation Relationship: Pasco LRTP - Mobility 2040 [Pasco MPO] Future US 301 Trails Study [Pasco MPO] On-Going US 301 Resurfacing (10-Foot Trail) [FDOT] Clinton Avenue Extension PD&E Study [FDOT] Overpass Road PD&E Study [Pasco County/FDOT] Morningside Extension [Dade City] (Re)Imagine Gall Boulevard [City of Zephyrhills] 6

Purpose and Background US 301 in Pasco County Comprehensive Plan: Policy FLU US 301 Pasco County will coordinate with the FDOT, MPO, Dade City, and Zephyrhills to facilitate further study of the US 301 including a land use evaluation along this corridor, particularly between US 301 and proposed reverse-frontage roads, and a refinement of the design for future improvements reflected in the US 301 Study. Emphasis will be placed on the consideration of frontage roads along selected sections of US

Purpose and Background US 301 in Pasco County Comprehensive Plan: Policy FLU g. US 301 Plan Pasco County should coordinate with the FDOT, MPO, Dade City, and Zephyrhills to facilitate further study of the US 301 consistent with Policy FLU and develop a corridor plan. Transportation/land use planning efforts should incorporate context-sensitive design principles. 8
