1 stirling win PROECT FEBRARY 0 NEWSLETTER INTROCTION Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback on the Stirling Wind Project the Project We value our relationships with local communities and appreciate your continued interest in the Project. PROECT PATEs On April, 0, the SWLP team submitted applications to the Alberta tilities Commission AC under Rule 00 and Rule 0, seeking approval of a power plant, substation, and interconnection, all of which were combined under Proceeding Number. On April, 0, the AC sent a public notice of filing to affected stakeholders, outlining the process and requesting feedback by May, 0. Throughout this process, we have continued to engage stakeholders while determining a final Project layout. Go Lakers SWLP will continue to provide the community with a funding commitment throughout the Project life, and will work with community representatives to support local initiatives and projects, like the Stirling School Program. Once the Project is commercially operational, funding will be coordinated through the creation of a development fund and a community development committee. The committee will consist of Project representatives, community members, and liaisons that will help determine how the community development fund is used. If you have any interest in participating in the community development committee, or have community initiatives or funding opportunities that you would like to submit, please contact SWLP via the contact information found in this newsletter. stirling win PROECT FEBRARY 0 NEWSLETTER PAGE

2 PROECT PATEs CONTINE Based on stakeholder feedback and additional technical and economic analysis, we have reduced the number of wind turbine locations from to. These locations are a subset of the previously identified locations. We have also changed the turbine model to improve the Project s overall competitiveness. The new turbine is a Senvion.M0.-MW turbine, which has similar characteristics to the previous Senvion.M0.-MW turbine. With turbines, each with a nameplate capacity of. MW, the Project s total nameplate capacity is now. MW. The Project continues to comply with the AC Rule 0 noise requirements with the change in turbine model. The wind farm s maximum output to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System will remain the same. Proposed Project map # see insert shows the following: the updated Project boundary, the proposed wind turbine layout, the Project substation located at NW -- WM, the access roads, and the underground electrical collector system. The table below compares the Project as it was on the February 0 Project Map # to the Project today, as represented on the February 0 Project Map #. The Project Comparisons Map and Project Comparison Table provide a summary of the Project updates. The SWLP team will submit an amended application incorporating these changes to the AC in Q 0. Therefore, the Project s visual impact is largely unchanged, although fewer turbines will reduce the Project s overall visual impact. The isual Simulations insert in this package provides visual simulations from several locations in the Project area. Higher resolution images are available upon request. COllECTOR sbstation ChANGEs The selection of the final turbine locations and the Senvion.M0 turbine requires the removal of some of the collector system, as well as some minor changes shown in the Project Comparison map. The Red Coat Substation remains in the same location and does not require any further updates to meet the AESO s interconnection requirements. PAGE FEBRARY 0 NEWSLETTER stirling win PROECT

3 NOIsE specifications / ClAss C AsTMENT As was indicated at our open house and as part of the required Noise Impact Assessment NIA, the SWLP team previously planned to apply for a Class C adjustment in accordance with AC Rule 0. This adjustment was considered to better demonstrate compliance with permissible sound levels at homes, as it would allow the Project to appropriately account for the background sound levels during the wind conditions when wind turbines operate. The SWLP team did not proceed with the application for the Class C adjustment, as we have confirmed that we do not require a Class C adjustment for noise for the Senvion.M0 wind turbine. The Project layout using the Senvion wind turbine design complies with the AC Rule 0 requirements. The Senvion.0M.-MW turbine has slightly higher sound emissions than the Senvion.0M.-MW turbine. We ve completed additional noise modelling, and we ve identified that the new turbine meets all sound requirements under AC Rule 0. Proposed Project Map # see insert shows the updated sound contours using Senvion.M0.-MW turbines with a hub height of 0 metres and a rotor diameter of 0 metres. AEsO RENEwABlE ElECTRICITy PROGRAM The Project was unsuccessful in the 0 AESO Renewable Electricity Program REP; however, the AESO has announced two more REP processes for 0. The SWLP team will be submitting the Project into the 0 REP processes, as well as continuing to seek other contracting opportunities. The timeline in the Next Steps portion of this newsletter shows the Project s potential schedule moving forward. For more information on the REP please visit: NEXT steps The timeline below indicates a potential high-level schedule of events between now and Project completion. The SWLP team will file amended applications with the AC in Q 0. The team also plans to submit county development permits to both Lethbridge County and the County of Warner in the first half of 0. We are committed to continuing to share Project information and consulting with the public to ensure that we hear and address stakeholder input and concerns. swlp schele TIMElINE Q 0 Q-Q 0 Q 0 Q-Q 0 Q-Q 0 Q 0 * Schedule is subject to change PROECT MIlEsTONE AC application amendment evelopment Permit submissions Expected AC approval Participation in AESO 0 REP competitions; pursue other contracting opportunities Project construction Commercial Operation stirling win PROECT FEBRARY 0 NEWSLETTER PAGE
